If you are talking about Pant he is even more an underachiever. He has played more matches than DK.  He is ATG in Tests. In T20 he is below lot of keeper batsmen

Patidar looks a complete batsman good against pace and spin. In terms of attitude Tripathi is right up there. There is no messing around.

Ill take tripathi if next Wc is in subcontinent, he is very very destructive against spin and we need players who can do that . 

but i have my solid doubts regd him against high pace n bounce or Pacy conditions. Lets see how he improves and how much has he improved. Key is consistency in coming IPL seasons, real test starts after one -two good seasons

Only way they can easily identify potential is by sending completely new team rather than mixing with seniors. That takes a long time to identify.

You don't need to see stats for everything. If you see most of his sixes will be v SLA.

 

Ifti is a part timer. Him bowling would've benefitted the other batsman hugely

Come on now ,Pant has a much higher ceiling and mentally strong . For pant to succeed in t20s ,he has to play continuously, just like Rohit was backed even after serial failures in odis

u can do that on Zimb tours kind but not in SENA.............good teams are often a mix . 

And in place like zimb they ll hardly get tested . What they can do identify on avl data(these dates they have all the data to know who plays what length at what speed well or not)

Most imp 1st idea shud be to identify talent for Next Wc conditions .

I don't think he has hit a six against any spinner in t20 international in the 22 balls he has faced.

Cieling schemling means nothing in T20. Form and ability matters

 

Pant and DK have palyed 31 matches together. In terms of strike rate/average DK has comfortably outperformed Pant.

 

Pant 31 matches 475 runs 21.59 avge  125.66 strike rate

DK   31 matches  430 runs 39.09 avge 151.94 strike rate

 

You think DK was given longer run any stage with Dhoni around. If anything Pant had a very long run until DK did well this IPL season.

Other day we were talking about left handers strike rate against left arm spin. That is when we found Pant's strike rate against left arm spinner is 97.!! Freaking 97 in T20 internationals.

Dude. let us back him after 5 years then lol In T20 everthing is NOW  This is not ODI or Test where you give a run to someone to evolve. Whoever is in form. Pick him. If samson is in form back him. if Kishan is in form back him.

But we know Dk's form is only limited to IPL ,he has been selected for the national team in the recent past as well based on IPl performances and then he does Jack all when playing for the national team .

It is a continuous thing that has kept on happening, DK gets selected based on IPL ,fails ,gets dumped ,then rinse and repeat .
