Gavaskar is very pro India and never sucks up to foreigners or below par ideas emanating from Englisthan. I really like and admire that. 

 

But he becomes a different character when it comes to Indian superstars. Always toes the company line then and all his straightforwardness goes out of the window.

Gavaskar, tendulkar, dravid were all over glorified cricketers, none of them were impactful or made any difference to the team actually winning, they have smartly minted big money through Indian cricket and will carry on doing so, none of them had winning mentality, cowards both dravid and tendulkar knew match fixing was going on and none reported, how many occasions did they actually play impactful innings? Barely any, can't expect straight talk for them, diplomatic and trying to sound politically correct is how they will reply, never blunt enough because they were never great themselves or had winning mentality, so this what you expect, favouritism is definitely a issue to.
