Labu nearing another ton... this guy is the protégé of Smith when it comes to amassing runs on home Aussie pitches- he has done ok in SC conditions too so the upcoming Aus tour of India will be his Litmus test and if he makes a couple of centuries there then he WILL be the best Test batsmen in the world right now.. Kohli who? Williamson who? Zimbabar who?

So strange that both him and Smith had pretty average first class careers before they started making runs at test level.

This is why selectors job is so important.  Ian Chappel said that a half decent selector has those kind of eyes. He sees a guy playing and he knows that there is an international cricketer.

Sundar is a classical example. He had no real record to speak of in the first class a batsman.  Bumrah/Ashwin all came in with not much record in domestic.  Atleast Steve smith was selected for under-19 world cup. Kohli/Kane williamson batch. But he was more a bowler who can bat back then. Since then he has improved.

Probably their weakness can be exploited by Australians more than others.

Its very common knowledge in Australia that  Australian Cricket is still suffering PTSD and still traumatized ever since the Kolkata Miracle of asking India to follow on.

 

Its why it has very very rarely since then enforced a follow on.
