I guess I was agreeing with other posters who may prefer 4 or 5 day matches.

Ind has been quite beatable on raging turners, as Oz nearly showed when Stewie was in God-mode. right now, with all the seniors, our batting vs spin is poorer than Aus, who have Stewie, Labu (decent, but not great), and Khawaja (decent, not great); head and warner and greene and carey can be readily ignored.

We wont beat Australia if we dont blow up the pitches.

Australia is a lot more settled team and aside from Warner, they are in decent form. We have too many uncles in the team who are out of form.

My logic is that by blowing up the pitches we field more spinners, by having Ash, Axar, Kuldeep and maybe Jaddu, they all help us to bat deep. If we rely on pitches that assist pace bowling, our bowlers cannot bat and therefore we dont have a long batting lineup especially when you consider Uncle Rohit, Virat and KL MUST be in the team. It will mean maybe one or two spinners only.

Sas but it's the truth. We can literally pick a b side that can smash both Aussies and India main 11 but we can't due to political quota.

Why was 1st test pitch not rated poor by ICC? Didn't the match get over in 1.5 days? Weren't there serious physical threat to batsmen in all innings? Where is the outrage?

no outrage. only reserved for SC pitches

Pace to pace yaar. Only counts if it happens in a brown country.

Make no mistake if we dont blow up out pitches in India, Australia will kill us. Their attack at the moment is on a high.

Our current fast bowling attack will be clearly outclassed by Australia's.

We need to have slow low turning wickets and just pray we score more runs than Australia.

Nha our actual pace attack is every bit as good if not better than theirs on most pitches. It's our batting that's trash compared to theirs. Again due to selections.

Umesh, Unadkat and Siraj is not as good as Australia's.

SA dont deserve the WTC final, their batting is really poor.imagine them on indian pitches.

I remembered it was awesome, they make KL and Kohli look like Bradman.

they made even rahane look great in comparison - rahane scored twin 100s in 2015 (?), and the great ABDV, Amla, etc. all failed.

prasidh, umesh, bumrah/shami would be quite fearsome in indian conditions.

I dont disagree with this, but Bumrah and Shami both injured and we know how easily Indian players break down again.

Prasidh does not have the match experience to really trouble the Australians just yet, because our useless BCCI and TM are picking Unadkat instead.

Lets be honest with India, Unadkat Ishant and Boobi are a chance to play and we will be massacred if we offer pitches that assist pace bowling.

On potential, India has far superior bowling attack.

I love when we open the bowling with Ashwin and Jaddu in the sub continent.

It really screws with the head of SENA teams.

it's likely we give them spinning tracks. I expect a 5-spinner attack can do the job:

1. ashwin

2. jaddu [if uninjured], else axar

3. axar/kuldeep

4. sundar

5. shreyas iyer

@express bowling mentioned Sundar being in the XI which I like, if he comes in as a bowler, it really lengthens our batting lineup.

Its important to note Uncles are walking wickets, so we need a long batting lineup.

Hasnt India I think in 2020 vs England, played just the one pace bowler and 4 spinners before?

Ind has done that before (ind vs eng nagpur 2012), but I don't think it's a good idea unless pitch is an out-and-out spin paradise.
