Get rid of IPL because everyone just wants to play that, everything else is ancillary.

Play against every associate nation . We can show we are world dominant .

A team which wants to dominate the World does not bring back old washed up medium pacers like Unadkat  or drop a wrist spinner like Kuldeep who has taken 8 wickets in the last match.

At this point in time Ind does not have resources to do anything.

 

Eng rt. not is looking miles ahead of any other team, with Archer to join shortly they are looking damn scary- similar to early to mid 2000s Aus.

 

One area that can be fixed easily is fast bowling, they just need to pick the quickest bowlers available in the country like other teams with alive brain cells do. 

 

After watching some of the SMAT and current RT there seems of serious lack of modern day approach in the batting. Still the batters in Ind Domestics can not play modern day cricketing shots like sweep, reverse, laps using the angles all these are missing. Also the batters have not changed their mindset- if you do not have brute strength they should have worked on their bat speeds. 

 

Plus there are no decent FB allrounders, no leg spinners who can bat, no mystery bowler. Ind cricket need structural changes and radical changes are required.

 

Since 2019 WC we have been listening that there will be radical changes but BCCI makes only superficial changes to divert the attention, Ind has played quite similar team in last 3 wc and expected different result. BCCI needs to make substantial changes. 

 

Attach strength and conditioning coach with each domestic team, may be ask DK/ABD (these names are just suggestions, select who ever suites them ) to give master classes on how to play modern day cricketing shots to domestic batters.

The brand of cricket that we choose to play is and always was bereft of aggression and lethalness.  I would not even call it old fashioned as the WI of the 80s did a lot of things that no other team has since done.

 

While choosing state level teams, we prefer to ignore quick pacers, tall and bouncy pacers, wrist spinners, mystery spinners and even stroke players. There is so little innovation or experimentation in batting. And this percolates to the national team too.

 

We need to change our brand of cricket.

Funniest is spinner who csnt spin. We have so many of them. But we don't pick the ones that can actually turn the ball.

trumper in 1900s was scoring at test SR of >70. aggressive players have always been around, but this bunch of timid nitwits don't want to play in such a fashion

When we have guys like Sunny Gavaskar it is hard inculcate such attitude. He was going gaga over every ball he defended by lunging. He kept on allowing spinners to keep hitting the same spot.
