Projects lost to Gujarat

For you to state that politics has no role to play in the big projects that went to Gujrat, then you are looking at alternative facts.

So even if hypothetical scenario is agreeed by me, then who is stopping Stalin Mamata kejri Thakare to play politics  to get projects?

Didnt they played politics resulting in closing of Vedanta plant in Tamilnadu? Closing Nano in West Bengal, and Electric distribution cos bankrupt in Delhi Punjab, attempted Charging protection money from Ambanis

Above is just very few examples. You are smart enough to find more, Why complain now?

PS: statement you put as fact is similar to The way Pakistani state fact like “ Everyone knows that India and Hindus  are doing terrorism in Pakistan”.

This lopsided distribution looks more relevant to justify bias. The most recent news is around attempts to host the 2036 Olympics in Ahmedabad. I'm sure other states see that choice as worthy of debate.

CWG games happened in Delhi and there was no debate. Infact all the games(Two Asiads) organised in past have been in Delhi.

Issue is down to Infra/Cost/Logistics. If UP And Gujrat are becoming contendors, we should take it as positive

sports budget by state:

look who tops the list.

states that won Olympic medals Haryana, WB, manipur, Rajasthan, mp, Maharashtra, AP, Telangana, Uttrakhand. Gujarat has zero Olympic medals but got most budget. I ask the question again does bjp represent india or just gujarat ? Gujarat got more than twice the amount southern states got.

There is zero sports facility in UP, MP, Bihar despite having bulk of national population. Forget Sports, even Cricket Grounds,IPL Teams have just started in these states.

This is a lie, and no one believes that. Even ordinary Pakistanis know India has nothing to do with terrorism, it is only their military that keeps on saying that to stay relevant.

All of them are playing politics and Gujrat happens to be more powerful than others, benefits more.

Let me ask you a simple question, what product or innovative thing Adnani has done that he become one of the richest persons in the world?

It is a positive when more states get involved. Like cricket half the players were from Maharashtra before. I am glad the talent is spread around.

On what basis though, being key BJP governed states ? Even if there's bias in this case for x category like sports, the non-BJP governed states, especially the southern ones that contribute so much to our revenue & growth shouldn't feel left out with due importance provided in other areas of the budget. I hope that is the case, sabka saath sabka vikas shouldn't be a hollow statement.

I thought most Southern cities are struggling with traffic? For same reasons Mumbai looses out as there is no room apart from that little Aarey Colony which given opportunity,  politicans would sell it with glee. For me, not everything is  Narthy vs Madrasi debate. If Traffic, weather,Security, infra and land area permits, I am okie with it all. Saying that, there are 28 states and you definitely dont get a Hosting project by putting political Gun on Modis head

PS: Its Centre BJP which gets the project, Why should it give credit of it to some other. Congress got and did CWG in Delhi with Sheila Dixit doing complete infra overhaul of city. Till date , kejri is not being asked a single question on devlopment of Delhi

I dont know how Adanis made billions else I would have done same but one thing is sure that they didnt use Licence and permit system like Ambanis to make their billions.

If center thinks gujarat and UP are better then they shouldn’t expect any votes from other states. BJP rules south states. Even in south cities are expanding a lot more and new cities are growing crazy. There is lot of infrastructure built and less climate issues if they are planning on hosting Olympics.

Raining ‘revdis’ in Gujarat, but no funds for non-BJP ruled states

https://telanganatoday.com/raining-revdis-in-gujarat-but-no-funds-for-non-bjp-ruled-states

Even while States like Telangana have been waiting for years after repeated requests for grants and other funds to the tune of Rs 34,149.71 crore due to the State from the Centre, apart from repeatedly being denied several projects, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced Central investments worth a staggering Rs 80,000 crore to Gujarat in just six months.

In his latest visit to his home State, the Prime Minister unveiled projects worth a whopping Rs 29,000 crore, including the world’s first CNG terminal at Bhavnagar, Phase I of Metro in Ahmedabad and Phase I of the Diamond Research and Mercantile (DREAM) City in Surat.

Non-BJP-ruled States are already pointing out that as a Prime Minister, the people of India expect a more inclusive attitude from Modi, who they say seldom promotes other States at global summits, but never misses an opportunity to project Gujarat as a model State.

Condemning Modi’s bias towards Gujarat, IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao recently tweeted: “Is this Democracy or Modicracy or plain Hypocrisy? For Gujarat, To Gujarat by the PM of Gujarat. It is NOT “Revdi” if it is meant for Gujarat.”

FWIW, a private hotel or car/bike plant ribbon cutting isn't the same as govt investment in infra.

You didn't read the above article. All the above mentioned are government investments. You think "industries ministry of a state" is fool to cry about private hotel or car/bike plant?

Pathetic....  Question is what are political parties doing it in Telengana?

Pappu Gandhi should make a issue out of it instead of declaring everything into India vs China.  One might think he will launch nuclear missiles into China the way he is obsessed with them...  While his own country is suffering.

No one said "all fdi is going to gujarat". That's not possible even if Modi desires.

Gujarat has always ranked 4-6 in FDI investments.

Any project of significant importance is shifted to Gujarat by PM of Gujarat even if there are better alternatives on the basis of merit.

Like if Vedanta-foxconn project succeeds you will see downpour of investments since manufacturing of chips is restricted to few countries only. The challenges are innumerable.

Neither Vedanta nor foxconn have any expertise in this field. :phehe:  And now they have chosen a location which makes even more challenging for such an ambitious project. Dholera is a failed city. Companies are leaving it. ISMC Digital (ISMC Digital) company was supposed to come at Dholera. This ISMC Digital has now fled from Dholera due to lack of facilities and water availability. Interestingly, Gujarat government had entered into a memorandum of understanding with this company.Jiophone, a joint project of Google and Reliance, left Dholera and moved to Tirupati. Earlier, Lockheed Martin Corporation withdrew from the solar battery project. Hindustan Construction Company had entered into an MoU to build a waterfront city worth Rs40,000 crore at Dholera. But after paying some money for the place, it withdrew. :hysterical: You need to understand Dholera was a dream project of Modiji. He wanted it to be better than "Sanghai". He is just not giving up on it.

Tbh you cannot really prove bias. Gujarat is in India at the end of the day. So you cannot really make a "national issue" out of it but on state level it can be used as an election campaign against BJP.

Lets be clear, Gujrat was getting FDI under non BJP Centre and many states  werent getting at all or Investors shifted to Gujrat, simply because Gujrat was under BJP's able management. I hope you havent forgotten Modi's Gujrat model on back of which he became PM.

Infact Budgest used to and still get allocated to various ststes but they end up unutilised or underutilised. Corruption , inefficiency, family rule, anarchy , anti Hindu, caste division, communal, appeasement is still hallmark of most Non BJP politics. It will be a understatement to say that Capitalist and Industrialist  prefer BJP rule.

I can gurantee, None of politicians are capable of hosting Olympics without corruption and hiccups with whole world making India a laughing stock just like when CWG happened under Kalmadi and world was showing snakes and unfinished toilets in Delhi. Olympics can not be organised by any TDH leader.

Now, Same happened when Chip manufacturing went to Gujrat. No Capitalist is ready to risk his money in a state where every other year CM changes (Apart from may be Odissa which didnt even tried) and Sankes with connections to Goons, Terrorists,Pakistan,China are ruling. Name one non BJP state where you can safely say that person or a state hasnt got risk of interference from some Family rule politician.

I was commenting on the infographic, it clearly says for e.g. about Suzuki facilities, which indicates how misleading the stats are.

The luxury hotel will be having 318 rooms and to be operated by a private entity, is spread across 7,400 square meters and has been built at a cost of ₹790 crore, said the release.

Sabar dairy is a cooperative. The AM Naik healthcare complex & Nirali Cancer hospital are run by charitable foundations and trusts. Ribbon cutting doesn't mean govt threw thousands of crores for them. It was all election oriented photo ops.

The ministers or press aren't fools, but they do take the people to be fools in trying to throw random numbers at them.

Yes. Only BJP leaders are honest. Non-BJP equates to inefficient, corrupt, anti development government. Dude, see the same statistics thrown around to prove Gujarat is not getting preferential treatment. Other states have been topping investments irrespective of the governments. We aren't really talking here about UP, Bihar or West Bengal. The OP here started with an example of Maharashtra. 3 projects diverted to Gujarat at the last moment even when they were already into the bag of Maharashtra. BTW when Gujarat was finalised for foxconn project it was the honest BJP government in Maharashtra. The only advantage of Gujarat over other states is the clearance is really fast and efficient.

In any case, the argument here is the preferrential treatment given to Gujarat to the extent that rightful projects of other states are diverted to Gujarat by using political influence. This does not mean other states are not getting anything but only that Gujarat is being treated as a special child. Why is it so difficult for BJP supporters to accept the bias? Modi is not GOD that they have to defend all his  "jumlas" as "leela"
