Too many pacers and too few quality spinners in the Australian squad for a test match series in India.

Conversely though India has too many quality bowlers and too few quality batsmen.

I do agree with a lot of that, but we have walking wickets and players that struggle to score but bat all day like Pujara.

Fatman struggles in Test to go big, Kohli gets out to any bowler remotely turning it. Pujara will score 30 off 200 balls.

With Pant out, its a massive hole. Iyer is the big key here, not to mention our batting ability of our bowlers like Ash, Jaddu and Axar.

We must play to our strengths and blow up the pitches for Australia.

No need to make rank turners for them. You make average spinner look great on those pitches and at times becomes lottery too. Just make good pitches which has decent support for spin and then only true spinner will be able to extract most from it.

India need to win this series.

Australia get easily mentally upset when we blow up pitches. You start the mind games early. Blow up all the pitches for the test series.

Sure it is a lottery, but in India, I would back India to win in these circumstances, especially if we play a triple spin threat of Ash, Axar and Jaddu which all three are very very good batsmen in India against SENA.

Khawaja

Renshaw

Labuschagne

Smith

Handscomb

Head (can bowl well for rank turners)

Green

Carey (wk)

Agar (can be effective on rank turners)

Cummins

Lyon (will bowl well on most pitches

If Australia play this lineup and win the toss then i think they have decent chance. On rank turners they can do what england tried to do in their last test in 2021. Played stokes as 2nd seamer and went with 3 bowling options (anderson + 2 spinners).

Batting is as deep as our, bowling not anywhere good as us but on rank turners you never know and you don't need 5 bowlers for 2-3 day match.

I personally enjoy watching rank turners in India, I know Im in the very very small majority, but I love when we open with spin.

Dont get me wrong in SENA I love our pace bowlers.

That Australian batting lineup is pretty formidable and in form. Thats the crucial point, we need rank turners for the lottery. We will win the lottery.

The Aussie batsmen cant handle lotteries, they **** themselves.

I have no issues with rank turners but i feel we taking unwanted risks. We have enough resources to win on good pitches in india even against all time xi.

I think there is a worry...  England might have beaten us or drawn 2-2 against us if not for Washy & Pant.

Both won't be here this time.

Old age home is pathetic vs left arm spin & Pujara Kohli dance around offies too.

Not to mention Their pace attack.

We need to be at the top of our game vs Aus.  Performance vs Bangla showed we are way far off right now.

Australia are playing their best cricket and we are at our worst .

Their Top 4 will be tough to get out as they'll put a heavy price on their wkt while our top4 is playing at associate level for a while and any Tom dick and Harry can get them out cheaply .

Australia are the firm favorites and I believe they'll win the series .

Only chance for us to win or draw the series is if some of our inform, champion players like Umesh,Jadeja,Ashwin,Sundar,Shreyas play out of their skin ,also we need absolute turners to negate their batsmen.

Australia will beat us on semi flattish pitch

Australia series are always fun. And those guys consider the India tour very important so it’s gonna be competitive.
Their batting especially looks strong. Those guys have way too much experience playing in India. Not worried of their bowling but it is solid and definitely good enough for our batters lol.

I’d go with Lyon, Cummins and Lance as 3 of the 4 bowlers. India has a history of gifting wickets to new bowlers. Agar I’m not convinced. So that second spinner will be interesting.

Our biggest worry these days is that we aren't winning on flat/dead tracks like we used to even 5-6 years back! The last time we beat a S. E. N. A. team on such tracks was SA in 2019 & you know how Sh!t they are, before that it was 2016 Chennai vs Eng. Since then we have failed to close games on such tracks against most sides like 2017 Oz at Ranchi, 2017 Delhi vs SL, 2021 Kanpur vs NZ & of course the 2021 first test loss vs Eng

On flat tracks we used to beat most teams post 2004 very easily, we simply outbatted them 9/10 times heck if the 2012 Eng series pitches were flat we probably would've drawn/won that series as well but Dhongi went for spicy pitches & Cook/KP handed them his backside!

These days outside of sporting/really turning tracks we can't win on the flatter ones.

Without wanting to sound too arrogant on the behalf of ICF posters, but we could easily beat Australia if ICF posters could pick the team and NOT the BCCI/TM and Fatman with Dravid.
