Chakdephatte Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 (edited) On truly sporting wickets one cannot beat India in Indian. It's these extra soin friendly pitches where the gap between the quality of spinners of the two sides diminishes. And there's always a risk of us being 50/5. In fact, it happens every time. Most of our wins are due to the lower order batting and not bona fide batsmen. And yet, we keep giving them chances after chances. Lyon, who was averaging 30+ in India, has out bowled both of our spinners in last two matches. It can only happen when we give him such tracks. We shouldn't be afraid of losing on sporting wickets, that's our strength now. Edited March 3, 2023 by Chakdephatte Rondu and Norman 2
Chakdephatte Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 I have nothing against spin friendly pitches but our batsmen can't handle them, this was bound to happen. We kept escaping far too long. nitinbwj and Rondu 2
wanted_desi Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Its like coin toss when pitches are that bad. Samething can happen to those Green Mambas where teams like Pakistan can defeat better teams.

vvvslaxman Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 We expected this scenario. If you roll out tracks like this it will back fire. This warning shot was there even before the series. But India's batting depth have saved them from embarrassment time and again. Moment they failed we were found wanting. I can't even say Axar failed here. He was not out in both the innings. But batted way down the order. May be bit of common sense he could have batted up ahd held one end. In this case both ends were open. nitinbwj 1

We need pant sundar etc for these type of pitches otherwise we will struggle. We are missing literally 3 of our best players. Edited March 5, 2023 by speedracer nevada 1

Chakdephatte Posted November 3, 2024 Author Posted November 3, 2024 New Zealand beat us in first test fair and square and out of desperation, Rohit decided to make turners in next two matches. I mean, there is nothing wrong if it is your strength, but our batsmen cannot win matches on such pitches. Rondu and nitinbwj 2

Our superstars are just bad and can't bat at any pitch except patta. Succumbed to pace in 1st session, not batting even a session nitinbwj and Ultimate_Game 2
CG Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 This was blunder by Indian team to prepare turners in last two tests and scheduling matches in this season in Bangalore. It reeked of over confidence.India needs to move to system of fixed test venues for major sides and rotate against minor sides. nitinbwj 1

I generally don't have a problem with any kind of pitches, but we didn't utilize our resources fully. Edited November 3, 2024 by Chakdephatte Ultimate_Game and Rondu 2

I we had players capable of batting here, I would have had no problem with these tracks. Exactly. You need to adapt according to pitch and conditions.

Chakdephatte Posted November 16, 2025 Author Posted November 16, 2025 It was true back then. It is truer now that we don't have peak Jadeja and Ashwin.
