Spinners are the most favoured by BCCI after the batters...specially those who can bat as they can help our batters if they crumble against challenging conditions (which they often do). It's easier for the captains as well to hand the ball to them from both ends. Our age old habit of not understanding the development of fast bowling culture is the biggest impediment.

 

Jaddu and Ashwin both provide batting cushion, even Axar as well...that's why they all get preference over Kuldeep Yadav in Tests. None of our pacers can bat, so they can't even play as a bowling allrounder.

Bumrsh and Pant are huge losses though.

Dont know about that. He did well in A tours from what i saw.

It's nice for Oz to have this warm-up match with a weaker team (Ind) so that they can prepare for Ashes. moreover, I don't think selection of Moeen - much as I like him as a person - is the right decision by Ingerlund
