That is why I rate Aussies of 2000s playing more bazball than this English team. Sydney 2008  is classic example. Those guys always attacked but it was not reckless slogging like these pommies.

They had talent. How many tests would have Andrew Symonds played if he played in this era.

Actually Steve waugh was pissed off after loss at Adelaide oval. They collapsed against Agarkar in quest of quick runs.  He said there are times we have to play cautiously and bide our team. They also burnt their fingers. Also they declared adventorously twice in the same test and lost that Test. There was another time Australia thought they could roll over NZ on last day and NZ was threatening to c hase it down and Australia ended up bowling wide balls to earn a draw. Yes. Mistakes did happen. But they didn't have problem retreating to conventional cricket when needed.

Moeen :hysterical:

Even he is hyped by people just coz hes elegant

Bang average player.

See England test team never was great in last decade plus for one single reason. They are made up of too many so called allrounders.

You need specialists ( both bowlers and batsmen) plus one allrounder to be a good.

you do need a bowling option in top 5 apart from the allrounder. We lack that.

Moeen is perfect case of wasted talent.

I agree, those losses were more anomalies rather than norm. That is why Steve Waugh has best winning percentage.

Bazball on other hand is Brendon Mccllum version of attacking mindlessly like he did as a captain in Lords 2015 when NZ lost test even after scoring 523 in first innings.

Stokes said he would not have Alstair Cook in the team. Is he fricking kidding me.This England team needs Cook more than those England team which had Cook in them.

Leeds is the fastest pitch in England. So it is not gong to be easy slogging. They had an opportunity to bowl Australia out cheaply. Mitch Marsh came out of syllabus partly due to their own fault. Root shelled his catch when he was barely into double figure. They should have skittled Australia for 150 or so.

Pat Cummins is the best fast bowler in red ball cricket by a mile.

Ofcourse he was the only one putting up a fight at the Gabba against us

"Australia  still throwing punches. It is that man again. Pat cummins" -  Shane warne. saying after Mayank's dismissal. Will always remember that.
