If he had a great wrist position, he would have ended up as a ATG fast bowler as he had everything else.He could bowl express over 150 effortlessly when he was younger.

Lots of ifs and buts. If umesh had brains or and out swinger he could have been a great.

No. Starc is not good enough. That's it.

Gill's attack against Starc was the one that made everyone believe that India had a chance in that Test.

Only reason he is in because of Hazlewood's fitness. They prefer boland these days. But boland appears to be too predictable.  Originally projected as Philander part 2. I doubt he will get that far.

Boland only good vs

1) current kohli

2) pujball

3) rahan

4) old rohit

5) bharat

Jadeja has done well with ball in Aus,WI,SL, too. Even did well in only Test he played in SA. All very spinner friendly wickets I guess.

Stokes was 5th bowler before but is now not even that.If Jadeja stats are due to pitches only, Stokes has also has swing conditions but still not good enough.

Stokes is better and more attacking bat, but Jadeja has played important innings both home and away too. Whereas Stokes for a 'great' bat has failed overseas

No jadeja has done well as support bowler on occasions when fast bowlers did their jobs. Jadeja was playing for one reason his batting skills as Indian batting was awful otherwise Ashwin is fat better spinner than Jadeja.

Stokes gets injured becuase it is hard for fast bowlers unlike spinners.Even if he does not bowl a single over from now onwards Stokes will end up as better allrounder.

Stokes is a far superior batsman than Jadeja ever was at any point in his career.,

Jadeja to his credit has improved his batting but he is no where near Stokes.

All the talk from Eng before the series and now seems like they won't win a single match. Robinson was on about giving them a hiding and now can't bowl himself.

Broad even after the 1st loss didn't shut up about intensity.

Stokes with his mindless declaration. He's the only one though who has played the cricket expected of them.

Funny how this team whitewashed Pak in Pak and Aus only won 1-0 there but here at home, Eng don't seem to have any answers for Aus. Australia might just be the most complete test team right now.

One reason really. Steve Smith.

If india had a player like him, we would trounce these sides.

What is your point , BTW Umesh has a great outswinger.

Starc is a very good fast bowler and maybe the best white ball bowler of this generation. There is no shame in that.Avg of 27 as fast bowler is still very good.

I mean he is not a true great. Odi great yes but not a test legend level bowler. He is a very good bowler but not great.

It looks like England ran out of momentum  right when they needed it the most. After a close first game, this series has turned one sided and boring.

I think Head will go far. And less than a month ago Labuschagne was #1. Have good bowlers too. Lyon close to 500 wkts. A keeper like Carey who can hold onto catches.

We are badly missing pant bumrah sundar.

Oldies don't want to leave. India won't sack them. There is jaiswal, harshit Sen waiting in the wings forever.

H2h both india and aus at their absolute best will be neck and neck if india picks their best side.

Rahul dravid especially was the best against Ambrose. Played him fantastically well. Just that didn't convert his 50s.

Yes he is not true great.Like you said Umesh should have ended up with 300 plus wickets easily as he had everything. It is great tragedy for India to have such a fine talent to have never realised his true potential.
