Lyon is proving how important he is for this attack.

You should back your main spinner Todd Murphy instead of seamer all rounder just for those extra runs

That is also not a good thing. If Ashwin is injured, we can fall back on Jadeja and Axar. Being too reliant and that too on a spinner is not good.

They should have trusted Todd Murphy, it just goes to show how hard it is to win the trust of Aussies as a spinner.

If Todd Murphy could bat as well as Green i bet he would have played. THey also made a compromising choice to boost their batting.

Duke is closer to SG ball rather than Kookaburra. Spinners will get purchase on dry flat wickets in England. This one-dimensional thinking of blowing away opposition with pace can only be done when you have the right resources. England has Wood. In terms of raw pace not even Starc is in that territory. Then skillful Woakes for English conditions. They have Broad. Bit of Stokes, Bit of Anderson, Bit of Moeen would do for them

Sorry but giving away 5 wickets to guy like Woakes also shows how poorly Aussies have batted. It is a flat pitch and England is looking to outscore opponent .

To be honest they were not really giving away. Woakes hit very good channel. Last match as well. It is not like they tried to smash him and get out

That is the point, Woakes should have been smashed just like Boland against us.

Woakes will bowl that channel all day unless he is made to change that line of attack.

Well Australia was very particular about not playing Bazball. Only Travis head plays positively.

England collapsing now. A lead of 200 looks unlikely which was possible few overs ago.

Still possible if Bairstow gets going. Guys like Broad can stick around. Wood is not going to hang around without scoring. Even brief stay from him will push the score

They don't need to Bazball and score 170 in a session , they  just needed to play positive cricket. Once Steve Smith gets out Aussies really don't have anyone to stick around for others to play around is another issue with them.
