About Kaverappa this guy is never going to reverse the ball with that action or wrist position in my view. He just relies a lot on angles targetting the stump. If i have to compare him with young Ishant,  this guy is way below him. Ishant when he was young would bring the ball back at pace.

WV Raman makes sense. WZ should score as much as possible against the tired SZ bowlers today and leave very little tomorrow to score.  The other commie was okay batting slowly. This aggressive tactical mindset is what missing our current team management.

Negative bowling worked for South Zone. They packed the leg side with 6 fielders kept bowling outside the leg stump line and on the pads. Sarfraz played a very risky on drive against the turn it hit the pad and bowled him. Credit to Sai Kishore for hitting the length consistently.

surfer khan (sarfaraz khan) was scoring at a fairly brisk pace before he threw his wicket away like a feckless idiot

Yea.. Succumbed to the field set. Bit over confident.   If they get rid of Priyank it will be tricky for West Zone. Don't know if this guy has another gear. So far looks way too orthodox.

panchal is a tuk-tuker. surfaraz has extra gears, but has been batting like a headless chicken lately

Ishant never got bounce as far as I know also he later changed his wrist position to bowl in swingers at right handers...  But lost the ability to take the ball away from RHB.  That move did make him more threatening vs LHB though.

Just a reminder 127 avg on local speed gun is 5 to 6 kmph slower so keverapaa really is 133 on average.

Once he joins the main team, he can be coached to bowl at faster speeds. He should be able to add another 5 kph easy. He has a decent action

137 138 averaging test bowler will be deadly.

What kind of logic is that?

Indian speed guns put out lower speeds compared to international speed guns.

It's always slower in domestic. Umran etc was clocking 138-144 when in reality same balls were 145 plus in international cricket

Not just him. Even bumrah was clocked at 130-135 lol. We all know that's not true.

So South Zone wins Duleep trophy beating a much fancied West Zone (Defending Champs).

They had a better bowling attack than everyone barring maybe NZ.

Irani Trophy >Duleep Trophy > IPL> Ranji Trophy in terms of identifying Test standard players imo.

Ranji has become hub of Trundlerism & stroke less wonders & is probably worst domestic competition going around.
