Some things you wish people knew about your job

For me, it's this: Connections will not get you into our graduate program.

References from senators or high-powered administrators or mutual contacts hold no more (and often less) weight than the one from a nurse/doctor who may have supervised you when you volunteered at the hospital.

It's what you've done academically, under what circumstances, and how you treat people. Not whom you know.

That just because its a government doesn't mean there's less stress or pressure.

P.S. I like threads like this. Too often Chit Chat section is filled with Politics. Good change :two_thumbs_up:

Aaj kal discussions are so reductive , it’s no point to discuss politics anymore. Wohi ghissa-pita tu-tu-mai-mai . Need some quality discussion around centrist viewpoints. Thoda tum badlo thoda hum badle.

Other discussions like video thread is totally being spammed. Some mod has to delete all spam posts on a video thread which should be kept apolitical. You are a mod! Also, missing a lot of posters who had diverse viewpoints

On topic , not all jobs in the software field is IT. Not all do payroll type applications

I usually stay in Cricket section, don't read political discussions.

Report posts you want to be removed/edited. Me or other mods can then take a look
