Competitions I have seen are submission only, like in ADCC. Some fights go on for 45-60 minutes till one guy can submit the other.....blood choke (tap or nap), joint lock (tap or spend next 1 year like a disabled person).

 

Points may be given because of dominant position. I know for a fact that slamming opponents to the ground (like say wrestling or sambo) is frowned upon in the BJJ community. The sport is all about IQ, technique and flexibility, not brute power.....hence females, old people too participate in it in large numbers, not that hard on the body.

India through to the finals thrashing Taipei easily by 10 pts in the compound archery event. Will face Korea. So far have been the best team in terms of pts per match.

Women's hockey semifinal on. The commentators on Sony made me nervous. I thought it would be a blow out - but both said it will probably go to a penalty shootout

Except takedown and sweep, all others are dominant position. Sweep is more like making another person fall with the help of knees. Takedown is there but I think there will be restrictions on force applied, won't involve hard slamming like in wrestling. Probably varies from competition to competition.

 

Judo and BJJ have armbar, BJJ and wrestling have takedown but only BJJ has rear naked choke. Some overlap, some distinct features....best of all combine beautifully in elite MMA.

But 50 times the number of medals, and do Pak schools teach what is any number divided by 0 (gold medals)?

China look the better team. Ball hasn't left the Indian half all quarter and the Indian ladies appear to be slower and poor at passing. Few completed passes. Almost everything turned over. PC for China

Not that well. Ghosal is our best for a long time. He's #19 or something atm. Was #10 at his best. His best performance was the SF of the world championships.

 

Egypt is the superpower of squash. Both men and women.

All Team events Gold swept by us.
All Individual events- 1 Gold and 2 Silver already assured and maybe one bronze as well.
