Jaddu and Run-outs - Easiest prediction of the Day

The thing you and @R!TTER need to understand is momentum.

Had Pandya even come close to winning, the confidence India would have taken from it would have definitely rubbed off and given belief to team in 2019 WC and beyond.  And it would have made the team invest in players like Chahar, Venky Iyer etc. instead of Axar, Jadeja who will not change the momentum of a game even if they score a century.

You always need ONE person to lift the whole team up. In 2007 and 2011 it was Yuvraj who gave belief to Dhoni, Gambhir and Raina who punched above their weight.

In 1983 Amarnath was that person.

This is the problem with keyboard warriors and people who played sports at highest level. At international level everyone is good, what sets people apart is belief and self-confidence.

Jadeja has this tendency to suck the momentum of a game through run outs ALL the time. Sarfaraz scoring a hundred or even a double hundred in this game would have given team/selectors belief that getting youngsters with great record in FC and form is more important than seniority. But that will not happen now as he will not have the same setup in 2nd innings.

It's sad that Indian fans don't have such common sense and love to jump on bandwagons of Kohli, Rohit etc.

Seriously you need to get your understanding of the game right. How would you think he could make the match closer. On what basis have you come to that conclusion.

Pandya is  a bits and pieces player who is nether this nor that.Stop overrating that bozo. We know how good he is, you don't need to tell  us about his greatness.

Gambhir was a very decent player who performed exactly as his level . One lousy match even if it is final does not make or break one player.

If that is case Collis King would be greater than Gordon Greendige.

Delusional people , I don't have much patience. Please don't quote me in future.

It's because you never played sports at the highest level. I have and I know how important lifting team's spirit is.

The reality is completely different. Cricket is a team sport where all the pieces of the puzzle need to fit together. It's not tennis.

You still will rate Dhawan and Jadeja higher than match winners like Yuvraj. 2019 WC was not lost only because of Dhoni or Dhawan getting injured. It was lost because of constant chopping and changing of the squad. Vijay Shanker was brought in as all-rounder and not bowled plus dropped after we barely won against Afghanistan by 11 runs. They brought Pant in and then made Hardik become 5th bowler instead of getting rid of Kedar Jadhav who was useless in English conditions.

Pandya was playing the game of his life against Pak. If Jadeja didn't suck the momentum, it would have made a huge difference in the game.

That massive loss was the beginning of the downfall of India in ICC tournaments even with a very strong team.

Ever since then Rohit and Kohli started to go for conservative approach where they picked seniority over match winning ability.

We are discussing hypothetical scenarios and the point isn't even about Pandya here. It's about runouts and sucking out momentum has a far bigger impact than one game.

Similar to Sarfaraz runout, if India loses this game, it will be a longer term momentum impact as KL Rahul will be picked over him if Sarfaraz even fails 2 more games in SENA conditions especially. These days to prove to TM you need to score daddy hundreds as quickly as you get chances. See what happened to Vihari who has a much better batsman than Gill in Tests but was discarded fast.

He never scored a 100 in ODIs. It was anti climatic that he got run out but it didn't change the match result

never scored a 100 in T20s either despite playing in a position not too different from mad max

I guess the team management had some serious chat with jadeja about the run out since he gave a public apology in insta. Hope he doesn't repeat in future

Good.  If thats true.   But unfortunately now its too little too late. The damage is already done.   2 run outs in 1st test and 1 run out in 3rd test are highly likely to cost India the entire series.

Didn’t read the match thread. But unfortunately Gill run out by Kuldeep. It is expected of Nightwatchman to sacrifice wicket to a top order batsman. What a. Brain fart by both! Why did Kuldeep stop and why did Gill return back? Lack of cricket and match awareness by both.
