Can we stop obsessing over this fixture?

 

Even the streak is now gone in this format and it's just going to be a dead rubber group game with zero consequence. We gain nothing if we win (let's be honest it's getting boring to even rub pakistani noses in the mud these days.. those mfs are already and perpetually in the mud these days) and if we lose, apart from some delusional chest thumping from them, it's not going to change a thing.

No means a dead rubber, considering one of ireland/USA can upset india/Pak.  The winner of the match may top the group and get a relatively easy standing in super-8 ?

 

 

2007 t20 ind vs pak were from sam group, faced each other in final. 

 

2022 t20  worldcup ind vs pak, Ind won and almost lost to Bangladesh. Had we lost against Pakistan in the group game, we would have been knocked out. After loss to India, Pakistan lost to ZIM and barely qualified. 

 

2021 t20 ind vs pak, india lost the group game and crashed out of t20 World Cup.

Pakistan's strategic think tank is good this time with Gary kiristen being the coach. He empasied on Babar Azam playing with freedom, Azar Mahmood the assistant coach vouched for approach of 190 + .  Pakistans pace attack is good. Mohammed amir,  Imad waisim are good addition.  If Ind loses, we may face PAK again in tournament finals which will be advantage pak. 

 

Some thing similar to repeat of 2007 t20 or 2017 champions trophy may happen where ind and pak may face each other again. Not a dead rubber !

India won't reach the final. They'll struggle to even get past Super 8s with the TTFs they've in the squad.

Bhai just check the group this time. There's no way canada or Ireland are upsetting anyone. ICC placed them in our group for a reason..

 

2021 and 2022 are different because there were other good teams in our group like South Africa and New Zealand who beat us.

Never they should have hosted it at meta stadium which I can see from HMD office I will be giving them visit tomorrow as I am feeling pain in my right knee.

one losing this match as second place team will face South Africa compare to kiwi, lank or windies.

Thread title need changing it is in Long Island which is suburb of NYC they should have given it to nfl stadium in jersey if they were not hosting it in NYC proper. It was given tickets to double the fans.

Streak was about all icc events not just World Cup beaten you to win icc trophy so really gone now.

Champions Trophy you have won previously as well against us.

The streak was always about ODI WC right from 2003 onwards...T20 WC was just an extra spice. But core ingredient was always ODI WC.

Lol no it wasn't. Pakistan had already beaten us in Champions Trophy in 2004 and 2009. 

 

The streak was all about the world cups and the "mauka mauka" ad was especially for the ODI world cups, which still works.

Absolutely no build up or excitement for the game. Probably the least exciting India-Pak world cup match.

Both teams are mediocre and will not have any chance of winning the cup.

It's an irrelevant match from a tournament POV.  There is no consequence as long as we qualify for super 8's.  

 

The most important match for India is on June 20th when we play NZ at Kensington Oval, Barbados.

 

All the focus should be on that match.  Win that and we can meet England in the semis.

I am old enough to remember It was about any icc event before you guys switched the goal post to World Cup after we beat you in 2004 champions trophy match.
