People are overreacting on Pakistan's demise.Did they play well then answer is no, but against USA , they did extremely well to get to tie.

Did SA play well, they won all matches by smallest of margins. They could have lost all those matches.

The guy responsible for creating the choke somehow is not in this wc. Roelof Van der Merwe

He should've been there and probably Ned would've beaten their bunnies SA once again

IMO "2022 Finalists" flatters Pakistan. They lucked out that tourney as first SA-Zim match was rained out which SA would've won. And then SA choked to lose to Ned. Just one stroke of luck itself is a miracle, and having 2 lucky breaks in the same tourney was like catching lightning in a bottle. Pak lost 3 matches in that tourney, which shows how poor they were, as generally in a T20 WC anything more than a loss means you generally bow out but in 2022, Pak dropped 3 games! That's the most any team has dropped in a WT20 who made it to the final.

Luck eventually had to catch up with them. They weren't that great a team in 2022 or 2021 either. In 2021 they were lucky to win the tosses against Ind and NZ in that toss-off WC at Dewbai and when they lost a toss, they were kicked out of the tourney. In 2022 they were as poor as they were in this tourney but a couple of freak results - SA-Zim game rained out, and SA choking against Ned - gave them a false sense of the team being better than what they were. This WT20 they didn't catch those breaks and here they are - crashing out in group stage which they deserved in 2022 as well.

So in your own words, Pak had to play extremely well to get a tie vs USA.

Last t20 wc they were extremely lucky to even make the final. Sa were crushing Zimbabwe before rain screwed them.

And the "small margins" make all the difference in cricket. And before you try to be more Pak loving than Pak themselves, for Pak this has been a pattern. They lost to Ireland, NZ C, USA, etc. So save the "oh I'm so unbiased and liberal" BS.

even the winners barely qualified based on other results lol

Their match against Scotland rained off. Otherwise they would have made it comfortably beating the stupid neighbor minnows

Oh! Never saw that match and didn’t know Scot’s were 90/0 . My ire with Scotland was by watching them last night. They were ahead with their noses and lost to Aus like minnows

That's okay. Aus is a top team. They might have been other teams in similar situation

You must be slow in understanding. I already said many times they were extremely lucky last time to reach finals. They were useless team then and are useless team now.But Pakistanis then somehow were under illusion they were better team than India then.

I don't care how many teams they lost before this world cup, they are overreacting to this loss to USA.

You would know all about slow understanding. Everyone is reacting to the USA game as a culmination of everything that happened leading up to that defeat including the defeats to Ireland  NZ C etc.

As far as the US game itself is concerned  it was a comprehensive thrashing; in the end the super over loss was kind to Pak.  US boys got nervous otherwise that would have been a 7 wicket demolition.

USA game was where they should have lost by 7 wickets but their bowlers did very well to get that to tie.

All their matches have been close ones , which could have gone either way. They are overreacting to their losses.

Not really over-reacting. They lost to NZ C team at home - that team had no regulars and mostly consisted of nobodies from NZ. Then they lost to Ireland, who themselves are pretty poor. And finally lost to Eng. And in the WT20 losing to US who're playing their first ever WT20 is a red flag. When you combine with how they lose games to Zim and 2nd XI of most teams when they rest their regulars to visit Pak, it shows a team which isn't that good. Even in their last WT20 they lost to Zim and should've been eliminated in the Group stage.

None of their youngsters are performing and they had to bring back retired players, which should be a cause for concern. It's like India recalling Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav as they're not able to find decent talent. And they came back from a pretty disappointing WC just a few months ago where they lost to every major team - even the win over SL was a fluke as they had to chase 345. Afghanistan is looking a better white-ball team than them are getting better quality talent. Si yeah it's a cause for concern.

Wth man, if your only point is that their bowlers did well to prevent a 7 wicket smashing aided by newbie nerves for US bats only to choke and still lose again in the super over then I don't know what to tell you. Btw, don't forget that they also won 3 out of 4 tosses this tournament. Can guarantee based on their batting that the Ind game would have been a mauling if Pak had been forced to bat first.

And today if Ireland had made Pak bat first, they would've struggled to put a decent score. No idea why Ireland would decide to bat first.
