It's easier to have impact when you have openers like Hayden and Gilchrist to bully bowlers and demoralize them even before you come to bat (like it happened in 2003 final) Edited July 23, 2024 by New guy Vk1 and King6 2

Kohli won everything in LOI and also won maces in tests but he could have won a lot more given how strong our bowling was/is. Sacchu had the excuse of weak bowling attsck though. He definitely played for stats over winning though in LOI. Even in tests sometimes. Sachin had one of the fastest conversion form 50 to 100, 70 to 100 and 90 to 100 of all time. This lie about stat padding was peddled mostly by Pakistanis including ramiz Raja and gullible Indians (and some fans of players like dravid) started peddling this myth like crazy. Stan AF 1

Don't recall him ever playing a series defining innings which helped us win in SA, aus or even England. But that could be due to poor bowling attack. Give sacchu 2015 to 2022 bowling attack of india and he would plunder and mutilate teams. He was much better technically than virat.

He helped us win the first ever series we won in Australia by contributing in both of the finals of the CB cup(Sri Lanka was the second team) He also helped India win the first series against australia outside India in the sharjah cup by contributing both to last match and then the final (desert Strom innings). Australia was his most favorite opponent

With a single bumrah he would have won way more series overseas, let alone the entire attack of bumrah, shami, etc Look at how many draws we had as batting did well but bowling could not take 20 wickets. For a decade in Australia our record was something like 2 lost, 1 won, 5 draws. It was best among any country touring Australia Edited July 23, 2024 by New guy Kron 1

Bumrah is like a serpent. He will take you by surprise. He is not in your face but he will not hesitate to hurt you. Bumrah reminds me of steyn minus the steyn celebrations.

I edited to add, for an entire decade (200s) our record in Australia was something like 3 lost, 2 won and 5 draws, it was best among g any country touring Australia when Australia had the strongest team We just had too many draws everywhere as our bowling couldn't take 20 wickets. Their stats are extremely close and Sachin was top for way way longer. How does that prove ponting was greater than Sachin? Sachins stat is almost a combination of 2-3 greats over different periods, that's how consistent he was. You have compared him to Ponting, but he was compared to Anwar, Inzi, De Silva, Lara, Richards, waugh brothers, jayasurya, and even way older players like Marshall. In the modern era he is compared with kohli, rohit, Hayden, and many more. He was THE benchmark in 2 and half decades. That's the biggest sign of greatness of a player, ponting was compared to him, Sachin was never compared to ponting. Even today after retiring from ODIs for 13 years he is still the benchmark Sachin is such a phenomenon that he has played over 10% of all ODIs every played (no, not just India but all ODIs by any country), so if you choose any scoreboard at random, there is over 10% chance that Sachin would have featured in it. Sachin was bad at no3 n no4 too.. In 2000s ponting better than sachin in both odis n tests

You dont end up with strike rate of 86 overall if most of your big innings dont have 100+ strike rate. Also, are you ignoring he played half his cricket in a completely different time when 220 was a good score? Every single one of your example except Lara and Jaya are from a later time? What was his strike The chief selfish accusation is if he slows down nearing 100, stats shows he doesnt. Its hilarious how you are randomly picking and choosing stats which make no sense.

They collate the data and hand over to data scientists for analysis, they are great at collating data but have zero sense to do any actual analysis on them Once that W63L45 guy showed data which showed rapes increased in summer and his conclusion was it was because women worse shorter dress in summer. Adamant Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 Obviously, why the fk is it even debatable? The GOAT white ball player bar none. Also the GOAT ASIAN TEST CAPTAIN And that’s the bottom line
