We are blessed to have him..dont know why he gets hate from some posters in the past here..

Between any other team and victory is Bumrah!

How many criticisms he had to cop despite being a champion fast bowler. Improper use, dropped catches definitely hurt his legacy. Finally he silenced all his critics. You can find another Kohli, Rohit, Tendulkar even Sehwag. But it is very very very hard to find another Bumrah. Just keep this in mind.

We might have won without Kohli Rohit

But no way in hell we were winning without Bumrah. No one can do what he did.

Okay now the important thing is how to prolong his career. How do we manage his fitness. How do we avoid overloading him. He has another 5 test series coming up.

1)  Not playing every game in the IPL

2) Missing test series against weaker sides

3) Bring in more skillful bowlers if not at Bumrah level to share his load especially bowlers who can be miserly

4) Hide him in the field where you can. Can't afford fielding injury. I know that is unprofessional. But he is once in a generation bowler. We are not West indies of 1980s era where fast bowlers seamlessly replace another seamer

5) Manage his bowling spells better

Bumrah does not play bilateral ODIs or T20Is unless it is just before a WC.

Apart from 5 test series out of Asia, [ Australia and England series only ] he is never overworked.

His workload is being managed well enough except these 5 test series away. Maybe rest him in the 3rd test of a 5 test series or have only 4 test series.

Additionally.. we need to prepare and groom bowlers like Harshit to bowl agressively in short bursts..without losing plot..

Give them the scenario and target what we are trying to achieve..

I really liked his agression against Head in first test..

need him to do it more often..without losing accuracy and fitness..

so in SENA we will need this combo:

1- Boom

2- workhorse like Akashdeep..Or fully fit Shami

3- Agressive bowler- Tall-bouncy decent pace or very sharp-Express

Like Harshit,Maysnk,Umran etc

4- medium pace bowling AR like Reddy or anyone else for coverage and breaks for top 3 pacers

5- Spinner who can bat like Washy

the above combination will help Boom..

we seriously need to work on #3 to be a potent side and as well as prolong Boom’s career..

In Indian subcon..anyways 2 decent spinners will do bulk of bowling

based on current evidence, we do not have #2 to #4. akashdeep does not convince enough, and shami is essentially done.  we have not groomed any #3 candidates properly. as for #4, nitish is a 6th bowler, not a 5th bowler

Possibly... in an unpleasant way by announcing his retirement at the end of BGT as a form of protesting against carrying the entire Indian team on his (narrow) shoulders.

Akashdeep is currently better than Siraj..he is a sidekick at the most..so I am looking at Boom and the #3 bowler to be agressive for wkts..

also these are not the order of priority..

Boom qualifies as #1 but  #2 is not 2nd most effective bowler or #4 Reddy is not 4th most effective bowler..they are just slots..

so a spinner can also be you 2nd or 3rd effective bowler...

I will agree with you on  that they have not found our slot #3 bowler..this affects the penetration of our bowling unit..

kamar tuut jaayegi..Boom ki..

Thats why he is not bowling so agressively and mostly around high 130s..as he knows..he has to bowl a lot..and lot..and a lot..throughout this series..need to keep some reserves in the tank..

his last 2 spells, the avg speed was low-mid 130s. that's some trundler-level stuff... all thanks to GG and Fatman
