Srinath knows Hindi. Language may not be the concern.

 

I think Kapil was limited in terms of knowledge, he never was able to generate reverse swing. Srinath on the other hand had ability to reverse the ball. Even Venkatesh Prasad was known to reverse the ball despite bowling at 125-130kph.

Kapil became selfish in 90s after the tour of Australia and South Africa. Post that he was only playing to get his world record. His last worth while contribution was in the hero cup final where he took few wickets and then that century against south africa in port elizabeth when donald was at his absolute best. India were 30/6 at one point. Tendulkar out first ball duck. He played an innings for ages which delayed the inevitable loss of test and series. Srinath became the main bowler post that and he became a luggage which needed to be carried. Because of him many promising fast bowlers didnt get a look into the side like subroto banerjee.

All senior bowlers and batter shares knowledge with juniors and peers. 

Thats why dusra and reverse swing became common knowledge amongst the team and bowlers.

 

Saying Kapil Dev was from the 1st generation of Ind cricketers when mney started coming into the game, players were started getting some kind of endorsements and Ads.

And these players would like bring new player and share that part of mney thinking they are the ones who did all the hard work and all the fortunes are coming because of them then why the new players are getting that part when they have not done that hardship.

 

Similar thing happened when mney starting flowing into Ind-w cricket.

may be because srinath was from south....

 

the north / south divsion was very prominent in indian cricket....

 

back in the day....

 

kapil may have also had inferiority complex as srinath was next big thing....

 

im sure he had no issues helping prbhakar or chetan sharma......

If this was true...could you tell me the reason why Pataudi (a North Indian) backed Prasanna...while Wadekar was so fond of Venkatraghavan ?
