Ultimate_Game Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Olympics chodo, B'desh ki chinta karo. Sheikh Hasina was pro India and was the most moderate leader there. Now Jihadists will take over in B'desh. So now our neighbors are Pak, China, Jihadis in B'desh, Pro-China Nepal, Pro-China and in turmoil SL. Pata nahin kaun se paap kiye hain ki aise padosi mile. Then we startee winning some medals in Olympics and see now no one cares. Only Indians will remember some of those for sentimental values. Otherwise, from Olympics perspective, whether you finish 4th or last, it's not a medal and doesn't really count for anything.

From Olympics perspective most people don't even remember who won silver or bronze. After the gold medal it's simply numbers. Can you remember who was the runner up when Bolt won gold medals in 100m? Or who came 2nd to Michael Phelps? Difference between coming 2nd & 3rd, and other positions is that the silver and bronze medals get added to the medals tally. That's it. But nobody will remember who came in 2nd or 3rd once the Olympics is over. rollingstoned 1

Hindu population already went from 29% of B'desh population at the time of partition to barely 7-8% now. With hardliners in power, they'll have nowhere to go but India and I don't know we can handle them. After that comes the headache of dealing with another Jihadist entity. Essentially, we'll have to protect borders from East to West with no respite. Pretty bleak situation. neel roy 1

What happens is china gives a lot of kickbacks and bribes. Basically to all in the govt from peon to the minister. So these guys take it with open arms. Within next 5 years they vanish with their sons and daughters settled in usa uk.. the next govt comes and says this is a debt trap this that we wont accept the terms and conditions of the loans. Then the chinese say ok dont worry we are going to re negotiate the terms and we are going to increase the tenor. Also as a sop we are going to do interest moratorium for 3 years on soft loans. And here is the key to Maybach for your daughter .. smile.. and shake hands.. suddenly after a year the opposition stops criticism and starts riding the train..simple

I know it sounds harsh as these athletes put in a lot of efforts, but without a medal, the country tally doesn't improve. Ultimate_Game 1

This is no different than CEOs who lay off people, close down R&D to increase share prices in the short term. They'll make their buck and then go away within 2-3 years.

Even if half of them had medaled we would've had the best ever medal haul in our history.

I think one of the reasons Indians remember Milkha Singh and PT Usha so fondly is that there was no precedent of anyone doing anything before them. Also, they did everything on their own. Doubt if they received any support from anyone. Milkha at least had backing of army and at the time there wasn't PEDs around. But in case of PT Usha cold war was at its height with everyone on PEDs and PT Usha competed with them with barely any resources and no PEDs. Simply amazing. Texan and AuxiliA 1 1
