Local BJP leaders are also giving these promises to Himdus. Reckon that will be the token gift given to them by UPA when it comes back to power & state will be flooded with Army as it should be & further groundwork will be laid for recovering PoK to incite a revolution there. They won't be stupid enough to gift Paxtan a ceasefire when it was on ventilator in Covid. The damage is so deeply done by current set up that CIA will have total control of Subcontinent in this decade at least. Complete revamp needed in foreign policy. I won't mind a peace treaty with China looking at how things are headed. As of now top leadership of both parties can't be trusted tbh. CIA has serious dirt on both of them. They had it in their manifesto changed its stance after the SC verdict on A370. They said they are not happy with this verdict and will still debate in parliament. There are special status to many states like HP, NE that have A370 like preservatory or autonomy laws, but never having duplicity of constituent assembly and its own constitution that A370 granted. Such a colloidal mistake it was.

Therefore, I am expecting a party that claims to devote itself to Hindus to rise above pettiness and excuses (including bringing the past) to immediately help people who are being made extinct in BD. The help does not entail making tweets, shouting on TV, banging benches in parliament, talking about UN, wasting time with parties like Congress, etc. India needs to take immediate action through the embassy in BD to provide a safe refuge which would include harbouring the Hindus at a safe place and providing an immediate pass to those who want to India through air, land, & water. If India cannot do that there is no point in even claiming Ind’s leadership in the subcontinent. Not practical. No country leadership in the world is that ideal to expect it from India. We live in a practical world. BJP never claimed to be a party for Hindus. They have Rashtra (Nationalistic) ambitions for India, others and Hindus believe that it is for Hindus exclusively. Modi wants Nobel peace prize now.

Hindus in BD need help not excuses on why there are being left to die. There is nothing against giving a safe passage and heaven to those being hunted down just because they have been brave enough to follow Hindusim in an hostile environment. It is easy for us to practice Hindusim in a Hindu majority country to actually understand the bravery of those who have resisted various temptations to convert and remain on their path. Safeguarding such people is a much higher cause than the irrelevant BJP v Congress.

You should first expect BJP to work Hindu issues in India, KPs, temple freedom from govt control, etc first and then focus on BD Hindus. They came to power on the pretext to be for Hindu rights in India, not anymore, they have digressed to be a sabka vishwas, a regular socialist party like Congress - Hindutwa posturing . So, expectations needs to be adjusted.
zen Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Just imagine us going “BJP, BJP” in a Hindu majority country, in a way, afraid of other communities eradicating us. These BD Hindus are actually living in an extremely hostile environment, displaying courage and endurance every day to remain Hindus.

Bengali Hindus are weaker in confrontation with Islamists even since 1905. They were partitioned twice and have 1/3 of what Bengal was. Even since 1757 they were dominated by Sirajudaullah and other Islamic rulers. Fight is not in their DNA when it comes to be dominated by islamists. They have no hope now. Hardly any protests and they are running away from their own homes. Other ethnic have at least fought back.

In a way, there is no real feeling for Hindus and the religion. If you are concerned about “India”, why do “Hindu v Muslim” as Muslims are Indians too. zen Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 We need to stop this: Differentiate Hindus based on nationality. Then based on states (those are Kashmiri pandits) Then based on caste (this Hindu is from that cast) If no further excuse is available, maybe differentiate based on neighbourhood to find reasons to not get involved. And if still no excuse can be found, the good old $$$, resources, etc. Is there no Hindu for Hindu? Brotherhood appears to be only valid till there is some self interest and someone does not get into trouble (esp. due to unfortunate unforeseen circumstances).

I am not understanding your pov totally. Solidarity does not count for much when people are being hunted down. Govt (BJP happens to be in power and it is a party that works for Hindus, being supported by Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, and such) needs to take a solid action on ground that includes: a) The Indian Embassy in BD (Embassies tend to work as if they are vacation destinations) needs to look to find and create safe places for BD Hindus. b) Provide a passage to India by air, water, and land to those who want to move out. Many realize that this is an unprecedented event that can wipe out a community in BD. This is an outlier event.
zen Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 (edited) There are leaders within BJP that too are advocating helping the Hindus in BD. I am pretty sure many people in India want to help this community. Here is a news piece on Hindu - Link In West Bengal and elsewhere, BJP leaders clamour for support to Bangladeshi Hindus seeking entry into India; BSF says the Home Ministry has instructed it to prevent any entry without visas. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in a fix over repeated demands within the party to protect members of the Hindu community facing violence in Bangladesh. The Border Security Force (BSF), however, is denying entry to all undocumented immigrants, irrespective of religion; more problematically for the party, its own leaders in in northeastern India do not want a major influx of Bangladeshi immigrants into their States. Ever since the Sheikh Hasina government fell in Dhaka, and reports of violence — including against minority Hindus — have surfaced, leaders of the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have appealed to the Union government to ensure protection for the embattled community. Help Bangladesh refugees’ West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the issue recently, arguing that the instability in Bangladesh could result in “crores” of people trying to cross into India, especially into West Bengal. He is also reported to have told Mr. Shah that the situation underscored the necessity of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) that grants Indian citizenship to applicants who are minorities from neighbouring countries seeking to escape persecution, although under the law, such applicants should have entered the country by 2014. Former Rajya Sabha MP Swapan Dasgupta extended this concern to “Bangladeshi notables who are friendly to India”, after the BSF denied them entry into the country because they had no valid visas. “They were, in effect thrown to the wolves,” he posted on X, appealing to Mr. Shah to “go beyond niceties and be more understanding towards our traditional friends in Bangladesh.” No entry sans visa’ “We are stopping Bangladeshis, irrespective of religion. If a person is without any documents, we have instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to not allow them to enter India. State police is also helping us keep a vigil all along the Bangladesh border. They are patrolling in the depth areas,” a top BSF official said on condition of anonymity. India does not officially recognise “refugees” and is not a signatory to the United Nations Refugee Convention of 1951 and its 1967 Protocol. A BSF official said that there have been two instances when Bangladeshi officials sought help after their office was attacked by a mob. “Across Dawki checkpost in Meghalaya, rioters struck at a customs office in Bangladesh to loot seized goods. We got a call from the Bangladeshi officials and they were allowed to come up to the zero line till the mob dispersed,” said the official. The zero line denotes a territory beyond the fence at the international boundary. The MHA’s tough stance regarding the Bangladesh border appears to be in stark contrast to its approach towards refugees from Myanmar; as recently as November 2023, around 5,400 people from Myanmar were accommodated in temporary settlements in the border district of Kamjong in Manipur, amid fears of aerial bombardment by the ruling junta. Since 2021, over 40,000 people from Myanmar belonging to Chin-Kuki ethnic groups have taken refuge in Mizoram. In official records, they are being referred as “officially displaced persons” and the MHA has mandated that their biometrics are recorded so they can be accounted for.
