Farming the strike

indian farming of strike by batsman one end and the tail at the other has been atrocious in both innings. nitish running two to give bumrah a whole over when he's needs one for the ton. i think siraj then tried very hard to take a single so he could face a whole over. in the second innings sundar showed no intent to protect deep or bumrah or siraj. the man was comatose! i can only conclude there's some messed up superiority/inerfiority complex sh%t going on. f%ck respecting your elders. i was prepared to give senior reddy a pass when he touched gavaskar's feet. but not after that batting display.

Won't they send these information to players let us assume players in the middle are dumb. How hard it is to send this message across. Why is that missing in this team. Why don't they come together when things are slipping out of hands while fielding. I was expecting atleats one conference when Boland and Lyon were batting. It was pathetic to see this unit

they don't care about wins or losses. they just want their paycheck

we have all seen against all odds escapes built on the back of strike farming. what was sundar thinking! and if you want bumrah as captain what was he thinking!

Yea.. you can trust tailenders when you are not out there to save a game or avoid follow on. This was one occasion where you need to farm the strike diligently even with a bit of risk.

we needed to survive another 12 overs, difficult granted, but that only has to be 15-20 balls by 10 and 11 if sundar farms. labuchange was shielding cummins for goodness sake!

YEa.. SUndar had 3 batsmen at his disposal. If he had farmed strike with each one of them we might have survived.

Sundar is not a good lower-order player because he doesn't have much of a higher gear (for taking advantage when field is in) or much strike rotation. he should play a pujara-type role. just come up the order and blunt, blunt, blunt

Should have come in kohli's place

Sundar should bat at 5.

or at no. 3. he can play the 2020-21 Pujara role (not the 2018 version!). have Jurel/someone at 4, and gill at 5.

No. 3 is too high for him. That's a specialist batting position.

He was picked in Gill's place (a number 3 batsman), but they played him at No.8 and 9 in the two innings..

Washi can blunt the ball and is well suited to be tried out at No.3

For SCG he can bat there but would prefer someone like Sai Sudarshan at 3.

Correct.. Eventually it could go to Sai.

But he should have played at 3 in the 2nd innings and should definitely be tried out at 3 at SCG

I can understand if he attempted a single and backed out because it was risky.

The worst part was that he was not even trying to get a single of the last ball of any of those overs.

This team is doing everything to fit in Rohit and Kohli. Every other player is playing out of position and bending over backwards so that the two maharathis can be fitted in. Never seen senior players of any other team dragging their team down like these two have done.

yes was quite bizzare. Won't question his character/intentions like people do here though. Perhaps some instruction for GG/Fatso
