It'll be good for short term in tests. He was a very good test captain who promoted fast bowling. Siraj, Shami, Ishant, Yadav all had their best runs under him.

it was because of Bharat Arun imo.

this is all 'leaked' by Rohit PR. So might be smear captain against Virat.  Reason I say that because he wasn't even vice captain.

But I'll take your word for it.

Yes, i wouldn't have believed it in normal circumstances.

Better have a forward looking policy and get a rookie captain (if Bumrah doesn't want to captain) like SA did with Greame Smith than trying to invent time machine to bring back Kohli days..

The only person I would like if they could get back is Bharat Arun

Somehow, Kohli always slips under the radar when he is playing badly. First it was Pujara and Rahane who bore the brunt despite Kohli performing equally poorly and now it will be Sharma biting the dust. Next will be some other victim, but King Kohli will live on.

Drives me nuts.

That guy needs to be dropped asap but he keeps escaping.

5 years of non performance and still we mollycuddle this guy.

Hope we get thrashed in Sydney and team moves on and starts the next WTC cycle on a clean slate.

That's how PR works.

IN terms of poor performance we started with this three

1) Rahane 2) Pujara 3) Kohli

Both Rahane and Pujara were in and out for a while Kohli survived

Then both were left out. Now we have new three

1) Rahul 2) Rohit 3) Kohli

Again Rahul was left out for a while with Rohit/Kohli retaining the place

Now Rahul is back Rohit is left Kohli stays

Kohli basically remained untouched which is not surprising as his presence is needed for BCCI for commercial reasons. So they left out players like Jadeja, Ashwin, Gill everyone except Kohli. But Kohli could take break whenever he wanted

It was almost like Kohli firing bCCI rather than BCCI firing kohli.

Kohli will never be fired, he is the chief earner for BCCI. He will play until however long he wants - in a way that is good, because his avg will regress to the stage that it deserves to be.

If that happens then genuine Indian cricket fans, i.e. Team India fans like myself will give up on cricket, and likes of putrevus would be jizzing in their pants :giggle:

After all who cares about trivialities like winning and performances as long "King" Kohli can grace us with his presence on the field. Results is for lowly commoners. "King" only deals in couldas wouldas shouldas such as "15 bad mins", "one poor session", "one bad game" etc.

"King" matters more than ICT to most casual fans, sad but true

Imagine Bolt saying:

Just one bad second.

20 years mai, one bad second is allowed.

I can't believe how gullible our fans are as they lap up these excuses continuously and are back to jumping around with "King Kohli" placards in stadiums after yet another inevitable failure in an ICC tourney or an overseas series.

If you strictly talk about away averages in winning causes he is below Pujara and Rahane. This includes his freebie 100 at Perth.

Winners win and losers make excuses. You never hear likes of Head and Cummins make up any excuse. They show up and perform. When they fail they admit to their failings and don't make childish excuses.

There's a reason he's the biggest downhill skier you'll ever see in the history of the game. If you remove that meaningless "fill your boots" Perth 100,Kohli would be averaging in 30s in wins as well. Just proves how he has to be carried to wins and can't do anything by himself other than being the "King" of meaningless bilateral series.

Kohli worship is just a reflection of who we are as a nation.

Be it cricket or politics or films..

Fan worship is deeply ingrained in our psyche to the point where all rational sense is thrown out.

Slave mentality comes out in many ways.

Its not going to change for a few decades atleast.
