Andy Flower is probably the best coach of all time. He won titles in each of the leagues apart from IPL. During his time at LSG, the team looked in disarray. The bowling was scouted well but there were questionable calls in every match, especially with with batting lineup. It was similar when he was not the coach.

Seeing Pooran taking the orange cap at a strike of 200 made me realize how much they have wasted the peak of one of the best t20 batsmen ever.

It was probably not Flower but Gambhir. I am sure it was Gambhir. Indian coaches somehow think anyone who bats fast is a finisher.

Franchise leagues are not the place to judge coaches.

I get that. You have to bid in an auction against 9 other team, which is not the primary skill for a coach. You can never get your ideal/expected team. There are too many mentors and peripheral coaches. And then, in IPL, you have the owners interfering.

But after multiple title wins with various teams, I called Andy Flower the best. Do you agree or not is what I am interested in. Thoughts, @vvvslaxman, @Lord, @Ultimate_Game

There're definitely some good coaches going around. Flower is one of them and I also rate Fleming highly. The kind of coaches who work behind the scenes and are not attention seekers. Don't prefer coaches like Chandrakant Pandit, Kumble or Dravid who act like a typical school teacher/principal. These type of coaches are suited only for under age level.

With IPL expanding all the time and franchises being in touch with players for major part of the year, coaches have a big role to play in their development. That's why you need likes of Bharat Arun to be involved so he can mentor and guide upcoming bowlers. Likes of Zak aren't gonna do that.
