Thoughts on naming India-Eng test series as Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy?

They have to , with new generations watching cricket we need new names. In another 20 years we will have Kohli Sharma and Dhoni as well.

If we are talking about same era and rivalry none better than Botham and Kapil. Tendulkar-Lara, Tendulkar-Warne. I don't think Tendulkar name goes well with anyone else.

I was trying to say the exact same thing and then I saw your post.  Tendulkar does not go with Anderson.

No.. if you want a tournament name that involves Sachin you should pair up with appropriate name. They could have named West Indies series like that.

Keep it as Pataudi trophy  . IT cannot be Andersor - Tendulkar trophy as Tendulkar's stature is much bigger.

It will be funny seeing them stand next to each other. Tendulkar is 5'5", Anderson is 6'2". 

 

From Indian POV, its unjust considering Tendulkar's stature. However, from an unbiased POV, both are AGTs in Test Cricket. 

 

Sachin, 200 Tests. Most Tests played by a player

Anderson, 188 Tests. 2nd Most Tests played by a player. 

 

Sachin, 16k runs @53avg

Anderson, 40k balls, 700 wickets @26avg 

 

Sachin played till he was 40

Anderson played till he was 41
