Others like Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals make no sense. The worst one ever might be the erstwhile Charlotte Bobcats, apparently named for their owner Bob Johnson. 

 

If nothing - there are so many vicious or cute animals/birds in India that can be chosen. Tigers, Cobras, Vipers, Eagles, etc.

 

Heck, RCB should rename themselves the Bengaluru Kingfishers - homage to the beer and to its most famous fisherman-King Kohli.

Punjab has great history of Maharajas who in their own rights have stories of valor. I think its a good simple name that touches a bit of history as well as connects to the modern crowds.
