jf1gp_1 Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Govt has all the means to stop it but we are such a large country with huge population that no flawless solution can be put it place. Look at direct transfer of benefit by govt. Major loopholes have been closed by it. Results from digitization journey will take few more decades to come out.
crictime Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 (edited) Bofors springs to the mind. 2G, Chara Ghotala / fodder scam Mines allocation, Adarsh housing scam, Punjab National Bank scam, Sahara, IL&FS. In all big scams, the involvement of people working in the departments make looting money easily. The total money lost to all scams and corruption yearly would easily take care of more than annual budget of the country. The waste of tax payers money is beyond imagination. Corruption is biggest reason why India is not yet a developed nation. Whatever money should be utilized for public in providing them better healthcare services, education, transport, infrastructure, electiricty and water to all households. Add to it the businesmen like Mallya, Choksi, Modi who fly away to get away with looting the nation give a tenplate for other like minded people as well. And hardly anything is recovered from those like Vadra, Wadhwani, Goyal, Anil Ambani who divert funds. Even cases are delayed and they escape the law, the punishment and recovery is also negligible. In other countries that is there if corruption leads to deaths. We need stronger laws and implementation on war footing basis Modiji is incorruptible and extremely powerful, got 2 clear mandates. This could have been a great opportunity to make those laws. Instead we get this https://indianexpress.com/article/express-exclusive/since-2014-25-opposition-leaders-facing-corruption-probe-crossed-over-to-bjp-23-of-them-got-reprieve-9247737/ Cant even expect anything from others pkmmamks 1

I was under the impression that the Lokayukta had to get a court mandate to raid, which would be done by the local cops/ CBI or ED depending on the nature of the raid.

But in addition to fighting it, shouldn't they up the guy's pay? Rs. 15,000? Can he even afford rent or PMI? Whether or not this would minimize corruption is debatable, but when you don't pay living wages, you almost feel like they have to do something on the side to make ends meet. Lord 1
