The architectural wonder that is Holkar Stadium (Indore)

Hosting WC games btw, same city where the Aussie players were molested.

There is a wall between media/VIP entry and the basketball grounds, which is broken down every time before a match and rebuilt post match. In return they have to give a certain number of tickets and food coupons to the basketball guys. Then there is an independent water station inside the stadium who blackmail MPCA for tickets and once because of failing in their extortion attempts, locked down just before an India match. Imagine having to explain this to foreigners.

How much does BCCI hate women to not give them one iconic venue for their biggest event? SL's Premadasa in Colombo is a high profile venue in a metro. Meanwhile we dish out such garbage venues. Final is also in DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Maybe Ahmedabad is too big (with an apathetic crowd) but our people would have filled up a Wankhede or Chepauk.

For men's WC, even Mohali wasn't given a match due to alleged 'subpar' facilities.

Bangalore was to host the knockout matches. But no permission yet from local government affer the unfortunate tragedy.

Venues likely are those which did not get 2023 ODI WC games and will not get T20 WC either, the stupid venue rotation policy.

TBH DY Patil isn't a bad venue. Sells out most Women's matches with 20000+ fans attending.

Holkar Stadium itself isn't bad either. One of the cleanest stadiums in India. Nothing fancy but the seating area, food counters, washroom, water facilities all are spotless and staff take a lot of pride in keeping things that way, rate at other stadiums in my personal experience.

Mohali has been retired as international venue. Mohali doesn't get even IPL games now.

Talking about 23 WC. Mohali hosted IPL games that season but suddenly sidelined from CWC. Quite clear that the motive was to punish Punjab or show it in bad light (as unsafe place or to overexaggerate K threat).

My point is if you are hosting a women's WC (1st time in India after 2013), ignoring all the iconic venues and hosting it in these lesser known venues is an insult to ALL women. Use these smaller venues for bilaterals, but come the main event, let the women shine in Wankhede, Eden, Chepauk, Dharamsala. Problem in this country is women are looked at as second class citizens, they always have to settle or compromise for leftovers without complaining. Why should BCCI be any different? In fact Srini once said that women have no right to play cricket and if it were up to him, he would ensure women's cricket never happens....same mindet as that of Afridi and Taliban.

2017 Ind vs Eng WC F was at Lord's

2022 Aus vs Eng final, Christchurch

In fact in women's T20 WC of 2020, Ind vs Aus, it was played in front of a sold out MCG. Though we lost badly, playing in front of 90k crowd was a victory for women's cricket.

It's due to politics. Badal and other politicians purchased a lot of land and came up with "New Chandigarh" (Mullanpur). They made this new stadium there. Every new development is prioritized there to jack up prices coz that's where politicians have their investments. They've totally sidelined Chandigarh and older areas to profit from their investments.

K factor in India is blown out of proportion for votebank purposes,. Blocking of convoy was a jumla just before assembly election. Moreover it was in Jan 2022 when there were spillovers of the farmer's protests, by end of 2023, even the protests were a distant memory.

Btw what is this stupidity of demolishing a wall before a match and rebuilding it post match? I expect these things in comedy sketches, not real life.
