So basically 1sqm per person our entire population while standing can fit in delhi. UP alone should be enough to feed this population for a year and take care of water. We are a highly disorganised and mismanaged country.

That was a great PR.Now that the billionares realize they can replace their employees if it was just cheap enough, scale & cost is the only limiting factor now. Now, we get to see their real face, from Sam Altman claiming the resources that you spend making a human useful, is much more comapared to AI when asked about AI resource consumption, Bezos claiming why do humans need all this water? Zuck telling all their brilliant employeees in his company need to become data sets for their AI so it can replace them. All the while keeping their models closed & attempting to block chinese access in the name of distillation attacks, while their models where a essentailly a distillation attack on the entirety of human knowledge. IndianRenegade Posted July 27 Posted July 27 (edited) These are the ppl who sell dumb ppl the idea that AI will get you UBI and so there should be 0 regulation on it, all your data should be free for them to scrap. Once they have extracted everything they need to they will happily welcome feudalism, because they know they will be the lords. Edited July 27 by IndianRenegade ravishingravi 1
ravishingravi Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Demise of human beings was written earlier than needed. However, the AI bubble will pop in next year or so, taking out many many players. MK55 1
Lord Posted July 27 Posted July 27 AI photo video audio content needs to be heavily restricted and all should come with huge AI created watermark/disclaimer. Can't really believe anything these days
jf1gp_1 Posted August 4 Posted August 4 I am not longer worried about all the new models taking over the world. Sure there will be some impact and misuse but it's not there yet

US can't keep pumping the kind of money they have been till now.

That's already commoditized in 6 months.
randomGuy Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Anthropic has annualized revenue 47 billion, openai has one third of it. Anthropic losses 11 billion annualized. Now kimi k3 released in competition of fable 5 and 30% of token cost.

No matter how many problems AI solves, it will always need a human in the loop to verify if the results are accurate or not. For example if Apple uses Ai to make a chip for its latest iPhone model it will need verification engineers to validate if the chip is accurate or not. They can't simply trust Ai completely and ship a defective chip into 100s of millions of phones which will lead to a staggering loss of 10s of billions of dollars.

Physical AI is also growing; driverless cars will becoming normal. The problem is there will be fewer & fewer humans in many domains. Even if in the short-term AI decimates Software services, we looking at a financial catastrophe. Anthropic AI alignment lead giving greater 10% chance AI kills us. Ppl freaked out about nukes which were just made & never used, while sleeping on AI that is being deployed everywhere. Edited September 9 by IndianRenegade

It will open new jobs and new sectors which we hadn't thought of before. Indian IT hiring increased to an 18 month high. There will always be doomsayers who imagine all kinds of apocalyptical scenarios. They will always have a kill switch if it really comes down to such an event. I am more worried about governments using it for nefarious purposes to meet their geopolitical objectives like COVID for example. Edited September 9 by Tillu

I don’t think AI safety lead of anthropic or other leading AI companies are worried about a terminator style AI. they are more worried about ppl using AI for nefarious acts. Open weight AI is almost as powerful as frontier models, all it takes is one rouge actor to be able to help them with bio weapons, hack important infrastructure… etc.

Whoever is incorporating these models should filter the queries to avoid such disasters. Edited September 9 by Tillu
