Many of us are against freebies, but be prepared. It might be the future for more than 50 percent of population.

Many times, I end up scolding AI (ChatGPT in particular) as it believes in reduction and regressing events to the mean. Many times, it applies standardized patterns to outlier scenarios. 

 

So if Tom Cruise says "I went to restaurant X and received this kind of  treatment." AI could fail to recognize the Tom Cruise factor, and come up with a response such as "High end restaurants are known for their customer service." The statement is "generally" true, and maybe applicable 8-9/10 times, but missies the Tom Cruise factor, the 1-2/10 scenario.

To ponder over the irrelevance of humans due to AI and Robots - since time immemorial, new technology has influenced lives. Industrial Revolution cut out artisans. Motor vehicles led to a wide spread slaughter of horses. Rapid population rise and urbanization impacted wolves population. 

 

If and when AI and Robots take over, highly populated countries could face severe crisis. The world could get divided into two systems where one operates on new dynamics while the other remains in the old.

I think it will be just a architect using AI. He/She will prompt for code and another prompt for QA.

 

I just used deepmind of google to conduct some research. The options it gave and the sources it considered is mind boggling. A great disruption is around the corner.

  1. 1%  will 95% wealth will pay 100% tax
  2. 99% will hold 5% wealth and will consume 95% of tax revenue in freebie.

In  Dune Universe, there is a concept called Butlerian Jihad. There various civilizations declare war on thinking machines as they have disrupted the human life and caused great turmoil. 

 

I will not be surprised if there is a revolt that will completely roll back AI. Or the unfettered capitalism that we have now.

Such concepts are used in films like the Terminator series as well.

In 5-10 years, we will be facing an existential crisis, and you can't belive a word that comes out of billionar liars like elon musk on this. When Elon had no play in AI, he was all in on stopping AI developement, how it is an existantial threat & all AI development should be stopped until they figure out saftey.

 

Then once he built up his infrastructure & team, he is now selling the AI utopia dream. A dream where working is optional, money is irrelvant, which why when he got the keys to US treasury he attempted to cut entitlement programs in an attempt to reduce deficit.

There is something even scarier that is happening -- brain rot. It is happening to me as well. People will not be able to do basic tasks without AI's help. 

 

I've had to force myself to compose basic emails and write more often without using AI. The skill degradation is catastrophic. People will become useless without an AI assistant in the near future.

And vice versa... useless people will become useful with AI.:giggle:

I'm pretty sure I'll be made obsolete.

 

But then I'm just going to spend my days making pasta and discussing with my AI Wife how the latest season of Bigg Boss is going

Such concerns are always there with new  tech. It was feared computers and internet will steal jobs but modern workers are busier than ever.

 

New jobs will be created around using AI to the fullest and developing it.

 

Feel India is behind big countries in using AI to solve problems and improve common lives.

 

Biggest concern is ofcourse deepfakes. Saw a deepfake year ago where Elon Musk was recommending a stock strategy with 100% win rate. One can easily fall for such scams.

 

Deepfake porn is already claiming lives too :((
