Usually, smaller teams go thru waves of excellence and rebuilding because their thru put of new talent isn't consistent. I travel there quite a bit for work and most have very little knowledge of the game if any. The fact that these part-time cricketers from countries like Ireland, the Netherlands, the USA, and Nepal can give major teams—full-time professional cricketers with major funding and exposure—a run for their money is AMAZING! Countries like Nepal and Afghanistan don't even hv a cricket stadium. Yet they play much better cricket than Ireland, whose GDP per capita is 100 times higher.
