Having said that, Aussies are still the better team. They may win all remaining games. But it will be because they are better, not because of any mental edge.

We will match them on the field (skillwise surpass, athletically at least close the gap) in a few years time, and that is when the tide will truly turn.

Remember the ODI series in Ind just before the WC last year?

3rd ODI Aus set a 400+ target. And our ladies went for it, gave them a proper scare, scoring 370 in 45 overs. We were ahead at halfway stage.

I think that was such an important game in terms of getting over the psychological stranglehold of Aus. Even Aussies realized that, hence so many blunders on the field in that SF. Once you take the fight to your stronger opponent, show courage, things improve over time. And it also leaves an impact on the other team. That is what young Djokovic did when Fedal were dominating the tour, and in a few years time he gained psychological edge over those two, dominating the H2Hs, especially in big tournaments like Majors, ATP Finals and Masters 1000s.

This is how we also won 20-21 BGT. Pant's onslaught in SCG showed Aussies that we were there to win, and entire squad got inspired from that effort.

I still remember the game and curiously Sneh Rana at the end nearly played a blinder. We should have won the game. Sneh Rana got her world cup ticket based on that game. Actually India should have won all the odi wc matches. The loss against aus and england were an anomaly. India should have scored 360 odd against aus and should have chased the England score in canter.

Did you see what the target is?

We are ahead on DLS thanks to Shafali. What would happen if Shafali slows down like Mandhana hope mandhana speed up after the rain break

All worked out well in the end. That come from behind victory showed our team's character. Will serve them in the long run. Dominating and winning is one thing, but when you learn to win after being on the edge of elimination, that  works out better in the long run. First 2 WCs that Aus won (87, 99), no one gave them a shot till the final stages, then their dynasty began.

We would still have won if our run rate was 6 or below. Particularly if we were zero wickets down. DLS par score was 30 after 5.1 with 1 wicket down.

Aussies were sporting in the sense that they didn't try any delaying tactic before completion of 5th over. Women play the game much fairer than men, and are also more respectful/nicer to each other.

But that was a boundary of smriti which was not given by third umpire. Her body touched the ropes as ball was flicked on. The umpires didnt even check well

Didn't expect us to win a T20I our weakest format by a distance.

A DLS win but will take it.  Good stuff from bowlers to restrict them to a paltry total.  SCG is a fast scoring ground.

Kaur's catch to dismiss Perry changed the course of their innings. She was in blazing form till then.

Can we dream now to hold Women T20 WC trophy as well? :p:
