Something seriously wrong with indian domestic system..

You ask the countries with supposedly great domestic system their fans also complain that the only finishing school that's worth it is international cricket because their players flatter to deceive. 

For our popn size it's not ideal but more than good enough imo. We can't risk having fewer teams. Guys like luke wood, Neesham, dan Christian and Tom curran are still playing every biryani korma league in the world while only being unadkut Mukesh level at best. Why do we want every ipl team to be like the cricket version of Harlem globetrotters.

Duleep trophy needs to be the premier competition.

 

Six teams , each plays each other twice, in big city test match venues , home and away. Televise it. Make the best players play with and against each other and not full their boots Vs minnows

 

Ranji trophy carries on as a feeder tournament best players make it to zone squad.

Yep Indian domestic structure is a complete mess right now and up there with worst in the cricketing world.

 

Even Lankans with a small population have a robust school based grass roots level program.

If they had a slightly stable and borderline booming economy they would be mogging us badly in cricket as their societal and community and education + health based parameters are years ahead of rest of the subcontinent.

May be franchises should start their own cricket training institutes all across indian with minimal training costs and start identifying and  nurturing the talent who cannot afford high training costs

comeon .. franchises can do better than making 16000 crores 

We have 10 teams in the IPL. That's 110+ players, 120+ with impact subs, 150+ with total squads, 200+ with all the talent in the pipeline.

 

There are bound to be some relatively medicore players among those numbers just by law of average.
