The tests are at the very end, to make sure a clean sweep doesn't dim the lights off of the T20 and ODI games!

Just like in 2020.. Though we won 5-0 in T20s.. got clean swept 0-3 in ODIs and 0-2 in Tests.

I remember some Kohli fans at the end of the series on SM making it sound like 5-5 and so was Star sports:phehe:

As expected both tests in Hagley and Basin Reserve like last time.  The green top snake pits they offer there.

They won't let us ever play in Bay Oval.. @Gollum

Bit like how SA never played at Durban once we had Jadeja/Ashwin combo. ONly once we played there where jaddu took a fife in 2013. After that no tests there.  Ashwin did not play a single test there.

Most Indian fans have experienced just one test win in NZ, in 2009 against their weakest ever side. That series was also set to be a draw but GG played an all timer.

We have won 5 tests in Aus this decade, 4 in Eng, 2 in RSA. Huge contrast in fortunes.

They are strategically very good . Toss also plays a role. You need high pace bowlers and pro active batsmen.

SENA boards think strategically unlike us

Sadeja's 6 fer in Durban 2014 came for like 55+ overs.

India lost that game heavily.

We did win Durban in 2010.

SL and Pak have also enjoyed some success in Durban.

But just like India they only host Pak in Highveld these days or Newlands

They completely make sure our spin bowelrs are out of the equation.  Ashwin mentioned in a TV interview about how they prepare pitches in SA in such a way that wear starts happening only after day 8. Thick grass cover,  Heavy clay content, Moisture control using these factors they completely neutralize our spin attack. NZ does the same. Even Australia resorted to bowler friendly conditions in the recent BGT. England suprrisingly went with roads.

Decade we are considering last 10 years or 2020s?

If 2020s - Aus 3, Eng 4, RSA 2

If last 10 - Aus 5, Eng 5, RSA 3 (2018 wins)

I meant post Kohli reign, didn't word it correctly. So 5/5/3 it is.

Anyway, that wasn't tthe point. 90s, 00s, 10s, 20s, 1 test win in NZ. Rarest sight for Indian fans.

Also got whitewashed at home...twice.. doesn't inspire confidence

We play spin poorly now. We will be like that as long as we have super stars who don’t play domestic cricket

Agreed, another issue is that our own spin stocks have never been worse.

Kuch bhi bolo, I would rather see this team play in SENA than at home. Can't stress enough how big a downgrade this bowling unit is compared to Shami, Umesh, Ashwin, Jaddu at home. Shami/Umesh, you won't find a better pace duo for SC pitches.

Gill's team will do better away for some time I think.

2014 was good and competitive, result also could've been very different if a few things went our way. Last day first test we looked good to chase down the score before collapsing and then the drawn test Nzl were following on and Kohli dropped McCullum who made a career best score of 300+.
