India series headlines New Zealand's bumper home summer.

India will be playing a Test match in New Zealand after more than six year's

India will tour New Zealand for a multi-format series in October-December, as part of New Zealand Cricket's busy home summer of 2026/27.

New Zealand will host India for five T20Is, five ODIs, and two Tests across the five major centres. According to NZC, it's the biggest in-bound tour in terms of matches (12) in NZ history. The two Tests will be played at the Cello Basin Reserve, Wellington and Hagley Oval, Christchurch, scheduled on the back of the white-ball tour that begins on October 22.

India haven't toured New Zealand since the 2019/20 tour to play Tests, although New Zealand have visited them twice since, including their 2024/25 tour, which saw them effect a historic 3-0 Test whitewash.

The ODI series involving India will give New Zealand fans a chance to potentially see Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in action in the ODI setup, the only format the two white-ball greats haven't retired from. With the ODI World Cup next year, the five ODIs will serve as ideal preparation in the lead-up

2020 we lost the ODI series 0-3 and won T20s 5-0.

In 2022 after T20 WC in Australia we luckily lost only  0-1 in ODIs instead of 0-3 all again thanks to rain coming to the rescue.

T20 series we won 1-0 (shoonya century).. and one match was tied on DLS

Very rain affected tour that lol

As expected both tests in Hagley and Basin Reserve like last time.  The green top snake pits they offer there.

They won't let us ever play in Bay Oval.. @Gollum

Vaibhav will be a good option we need a ultra aggressive batter a quick 50 change the match oru typical approach won't work

It's their prerogative to be honest. Hagley is the bounciest wicket , so that's good

I'd rather just focus on developing an attack of four bowlers  with sufficient pace (85 mph +) high release points - Gurnoor- and wobble seam.

And our batting focusing on playing the ball later like we did in England series against their quicks.

We lost last time because our entire idiotic batting lineup was trying to play well in front of the body, inspired by captain Kohli.

Yeah Wellington is usually toughest for us.  We always get blown away there.

NZ has been Bumrah's kryptonite as well.  He will surely play both tests.

Overall don't like our chances.  A test win would be dope tbh

Would have preferred 3 T20s and 1 additional test... But I understand the financial factor

Dreading the test series, one of our weakest phases

Didn’t we draw a series in England ?

Most Indian fans have experienced just one test win in NZ, in 2009 against their weakest ever side. That series was also set to be a draw but GG played an all timer.

We have won 5 tests in Aus this decade, 4 in Eng, 2 in RSA. Huge contrast in fortunes.

Atleast play 3 Tests...FFS.

2 is just too little.

3 Test series with NZ, SA, SL

4/5 with England, Aus

2 Test series with WI, Zim, Afg

1 Test with Kanglus, Ireland or any other land.

CNZ cant afford to host more than two test series... if BCCI is happy to give them money im sure they'd more than likely to want to have a 3 test series. They earn LOTS more from white ball tours esp India

Botched both tests in 2014.  I was in tears after that gut wrenching defeat in Auckland.  Dhongi Sadeja botched a legendary run chase.  All they had to do was bat sensibly for a bit

Kiwi commies were on mental breakdown when Dhawan and Kohli were batting.

Less said about the second test the better.  Probably costliest drop in my test memory, Mccullum dropped by Kohli and rest is history.  Painful memory that entire tour.

I woke up watching both tests at 3:30 AM.

WI played 3 tests last year in NZ.

It's just broadcaster and NZC's greed to make money from India tour.

How come WI played a 3 test series there last year?
