There are some who claim a lot of things about most sports are scripted. Its we who watch the same movie over and over.

Switzerland has made the exact same mistake as Japan did in the Brazil game.

 

I switched on my tv at 110 minutes and saw all Swiss players crowded to defend instead of taking the possession of the ball and going to Argentina goalpost. I knew it there itself ki inka toh ho gaya ab..

Yea. People rooting for underdogs keep getting disappointed.  WIldly inconsistent refereeing. But consistently favors certain teams.  Paraguyans looked like they were going to kill Mbappe. But they are only 10 players. They were exhausted. THey did the best they could. I guessed ARgentina will do a final push only in the last few minutes. THey did that. Also lot of physical tackles were ignored by referee.

There are basically two centers of power in soccer - Europe and South America. With Brazil's steep decline since the 7-1, the powers that be are desperate to promote South American soccer.
