Vancouver Posted July 11 Posted July 11 (edited) Unfortunate incident, hope they followed all safety guidelines. A chartered boat capsized a few days ago in Richmond BC killing 10, most were Chinese and in their 20s and 30s. No one wore life vests in turbulent water, captain was 22 year old. Problem is most Indians don't know how to swim. Those who think they know how to swim, overestimate their ability. They only swam in village canal or a sarowar in their life. Many international students lose their life in water. To westerners it's very shocking when they learn an adult Indian does not know how to swim. Edited July 11 by Vancouver ravishingravi 1

As far as i understand, issue wasn't that they didn't know how to swim, they had lifejackets. Issue was that they got trapped under the boat after it capsized and couldnt free themselves.
