Neither first class nor IPL gave us the best players. It has mostly been under-19 for more than 2 decades. Kohli, Rohit, Pujara, Gill, Jaiswal, Kela, Samson, Pant, Kishan are all under-19 world cup products.

oh yes completely missed that under 19 is our main talent hub bcci and the selectors should give proper long-term opportunities to former under 19 talents like priyam garg yash dhull musheer khan sachin dhas and kumar kushagra

Yes coz domestic lejhunds didn't like their spots being taken over by younger Pacers.

Batters enjoy easy life in India and U19 batting talents do get opportunities eventually unlike pacers and even spinners.

Abhishek, Tilak, Jurel list is long. We just get enough bowlers though.

Someone said here that a batsman’s life is easy while a bowler’s life is tough that it true

Listen to the domestic cricket commentary.

There is a hatred towards quick pacers except Joydeep Mukherjee and WV Raman.

And it's these people who become State Level and Zonal selectors.

There is a large grp of such commentators, they do commentary in all the games now be it local t20 leagues or these bcci top events.

There is no appreciation to fast bowling , if a faster bowler goes for 4 or runs then its a bad ball even if  it was a mistimed or edge. They actively calls for bowler to bowl at lower pace

And if a trundler goes for runs its batter's class.

They eventually decide the future of most players.

They are heavily biased and listening to their commentary Even if the fast bowler bowls well, they may make it sound as if Trundlers are bowling well.

I also think Mukesh, Kamboj, Harshal are especially hyped by commentator as they see themselves in them ie Chetan Sharma, etc

our nation is cursed these types of zero-IQ jackals run every single system  and the cricket system is no different. cricket is the one sport where we actually have world-class talent  but these complete morons manage to ruin that as well

The batting seems to be disappointing, they are not scoring vs run of the mill bowlers.

Player like mokhade. doseja, bhui etc... may never get picked in ipl due lack of t20 game bt they are getting their chances here and they are not performing.

sanat, mokade, doseja, bhui, chandela, rathode should bat score big , Ind is looking for test batters and there is opportunity they need to materialize it. else selectors are justified to pick test batter from IPL

Siraj is injured.

So he can only play test matches for India based on seniority.    :p:

I thought they blamed it on match practice. Either way, he shouldn't be selected for India until he can prove he can bowl with some zip.

Ricky Bhui is from Pant's batch if I am not wrong.

He was seen as a talented batter, but never transitioned himself beyond a certain level.

Most of domestic batters are expert in playing 120 kph thunderbolt which dont even rise beyond the waist. In internationals when they play 140+ bouncers all their "technique" is exposed in open like ruptured core of Chernobyl.

One player I really feel should have gotten his due is Baba Indrajith, but even SZ never promoted him for some reason. Aparitjith Jagadeesan & Sai were promoted more than him.

Ricky bhui was the highest run getter last season in DUleep Trophy. IPL performance is needed to grab the attention even if you are good. In modern era Pujara would not have made debut. Baba Indrajith did play duleep trophy when they had Red team blue team India green team.

He got  attention in his debut season when he took the team from 205/9 to 383 with a double century

yes , inadequacy vs pace has always been an issue with ind domestic batters but in the past as well 50+ averaging batters were able to cope-up and able to lift the game and adapt to intnl bowling.

These are top ranji players -- bhui, doseja, rathod, mokhade, malewar they need to score runs in these tournaments can get some attention here. Ind is not playing any intnl games right now so they can be in news and media and social media.

They do not have t20 game to be selected for ipl sides and that way get into ind side they need to perform here
