He will (not IF) drop a few critical chances during next WC which we will regret. I just hope senses prevail and Pant is brought back in playing XI even if at the expense of Rohit. Samson better than both. Or even Jurel

If he can be tried lower down the order why not Sanju

Adamant Posted August 30 Posted August 30 More chances should be given to Pant to sort out his LOI batting. He is a freakish talent. Stan AF and putrevus 2
tapandrun Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Not saying anyone of is better option but comparison between sanju, kishan and rishab shows sanju and kishan has better avg by big margins and both can play multiple spots and both can be played as batter can can field in the outfield. Player Matches Innings Total Runs Batting Average Strike Rate Fifties (50s) Hundreds (100s) Highest Score Ishan Kishan 32 28 1,107 42.58 107.06 7 2 210 Rishabh Pant 31 27 871 33.50 106.21 5 1 125* Sanju Samson 16 14 510 56.67 99.61 3 1 108

Sanju has done well under pressure. Asia cup final came at 20/3. Steadied the ship in unusual position. Then 3 epic knocks. Against SA down the order almost won the game. Handles spin well. Also ability to score big overs. Downside is inconsistency. He can have a sequence of failures out of the blue. Has the skills to survive in most conditions except may be moving conditions for first few overs. Down the order he won't have such issues. Pant. Strength is Can play almost all conditions in the world. Doesn't succumb to pressure. Better keeper. Doesn't succumb to pressure sometimes injudicious shot selection let him down. Doesn't have the right tempo where you shift through gears. Kishan strength is can go from ball 1. With enhanced all round game he doesn't get stuck at one end anymore. He manages to find himself at other end. Weakness is he is still not entirely convincing in certain helpful conditions for seam bowlers. There are still some weaknesses that can be exploited. Worst keeper of the lot. tapandrun 1

Worst keeper of the lot. yes , no one is clear better than others is the conclusion , everyone has that 1 good innings but they are not suited for Odis and specially for SA conditions. Thats why kl plays as wk in odis even when he has botched up 2 WCs , he is at same wking levels as these 3 are, has avg of ~48 and sr of 90+. Can open if needed and will all his mental flaws he has better technique than others. Edited August 31 by tapandrun
