Gambit Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 March against terror on in India in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Jaipur. Amazing scenes from all over. Lots and lots of people out on the streets condemning terror, lighting candles and holding banners.
Gambit Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 One gentleman stuck out in particular. Speaking rather eloquently, he said something that will reveberate for centuries to come - "Neem ka patta kardwa hai, Pakistan saala bha.wa hai."
Cricketics Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 the slogan should be "HINDUSTAN MERI JAAN, SAALA KUTTA pakistan"

Guest Hiten. Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Citizens of India rally up against Politicians and Terrorists As the metropolis recovers from the last week's stunning terror attacks, hundreds of people, including children and senior citizens, gathered at Gateway of India on Wednesday to mourn the death of victims and martyrs and demand security for the common man. Anger spilled against public representatives in protests and march held near the Gateway of India, where people assembled in show of solidarity. All roads led to the historic structure near Taj Hotel, one of the sites of the November 26 strikes that left 183 dead, as people -- from common man to citizen groups and associations -- took part in protests and peace march. They questioned the ability of politicians, especially those in power, in effectively dealing with terror threats. Amid slogans against politicians and Pakistan, the citizens, holding placards, lit candles and paid tribute to victims and martyrs who lost their lives fighting terrorists. Signature campaigns were also held to denounce terror and promote peace. Some demanded resignation of Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. "Security is essential for common people who are paying taxes. Personnel deployed to protect politicians who cannot save people and the country should be withdrawn immediately. Time has come for people to wake up and expose the politicians," said Viren Shah (45), Joint Secretary, Federation of Retailers Traders Welfare Associations. Despite police request to protest in a peaceful manner, the angry citizens shouted slogans against politicians. 'Enough of terrorism', 'Let us kill terrorism Halla Boll', 'Politicians get out' and 'We want actions not words' were some of the messages conveyed in banners and placards. "We have never seen such a show of solidarity for a single cause at the Gateway of India," said Ad guru Prahlad Kakkar, as white candles were lit around a wreath of red roses laid on the cobbled plaza of the harbour-front structure.
vroomfondel Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 sorry, i recognize these people. they are like me: upper middle class, english speaking, ponytail+kurta types. the same kind that do not vote, and if they do will vote in nice foreign educated nehru-gandhis. they are protesting because the sea lounge is not open and they have no place to go for a decent cappucino in this god forsaken country.
punjabi_khota Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 I don't think any of this is going to help. Maybe they are doing it for their inner peace etc.
