I was thinking of taking the day off but since we have TVs in the cafeteria, I just might sit there and work. :winky: I can't wait for this tour to begin. 10 games in which to take revenge for 2002. Let the pwning begin! B->

I'm looking forward to destroying my sleeping pattern for the next month or two. Yay for nocturnal living!
My sleeping pattern has pretty much been messed up everytime India have played in the last year This is as bad as playing Aus, Test matches start at 11pm

I am. I want some payback for that last series - It wasn't just that the conditions were bad, and pitches were prepared intentionally in favor of seam-bowling - kiwis even changed the watering patterns and left pitches uncovered at certain points during a test depending on who was going to bat. They need to pay for that BS. I expect the team to win comfortably in tests and one-days, hoping to see the kiwis crushed but will settle for comfortable series win. I dont give a flying **** about the wind, cold or seaming conditions - this team is yards better than the kiwis and should play to that standard inspite of the conditions handicap. Too bad the 20-20 games start a 1 a.m. - 2 hours plus or minus, and i would've watched those as well. I dont care as much about the results of those games, because the luck factor is much higher and these are the first real cricket of the tour.....

Did they leave pitches uncovered based on who was going to bat!? WTH! I hope NZ doesnt do such gimmicks this time.

Huh ? Accept that Indian team is FTB and we cannot play on seaming tracks. NZ just prepared the track just so it suits them. So what none of the team reached 200 in either innings, it provided Test purists with their type of entertainment (bowlers triumphing batsmen). So what the games ended in just 3 days. This is the difference between NZ and India. India doctors the pitches whereas NZ prepares a track that suits them. India relies on spinning tracks in India because we cannot produce fast bowlers and batsmen who can fast bowling. [/rant]

i am really excited..i dont care abt the pitches really..we are a far superior team than NZ and watever kind of pitches they produce we shd beat them..i might sound arrogant but that is the truth and its high time we start living up to our hype and tag as the best team in the world..and this is where we shd start..beating NZ is the first small step in the big journey towards world domination..

NZ intentionally prepared the pitches to suit the seam bowlers the last time around. Sure 2002 summer wasn't that flashy and was raining cats and dogs then but I know that the curators leaked the water on to the pitch in the Hamilton test match. Wellington pitch wasn't that bad but both teams played badly. Hamilton pitch was extremely poor for a test match. The ODIs weren't that bad. In fact Sehwag was among runs with the kind of technique he has but the rest faltered because they couldn't cope. This time around the pitches have gone flatter and slower. The Twenty20 scores still around the country in doemstic competitions have not been great. A score of 140-150 have been winning totals. The Dunedin and Auckland pitches have seen a lot of runs scored. Consistently there were over 200 runs scored. In the rest of the country the par score has been about 150. In ODIs, par score has been about 240 barring places like Dunedin and New Plymouth. Only Dunedin is hosting a ODI against India so don't expect consistent scores over 300 runs this time as well. If India can post about 150 in Twenty20 and over 240 in ODIs they will stand in a good stead. Rest assured it will still be a balanced act between bat and the ball.
