fineleg Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Have any of you 'put a freeze' on your credit reports with the 3 credit reporting bureaus? (Experian, Equifax, Transunion)? The pro is ofcourse added security. What are the downsides? (i know some inconvenience and cost when you have to thaw the freeze to buy a cell phone contract from a new carrier etc). Any other practical issues?

coffee_rules Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Identity thieves don't go around hacking credit agency sites. So, how will it add security by freezing credit reporting, if you are losing your wallet in McDonalds or buy a lot online!

suraj Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 While I appreciate the sense of humor of many members here and even the posts here (speciallythe pic) are hialrious, I think ICF does not benefit from continual barrage of insults and jokes based on the fact that a thread has been started or a post has been made by some members who are constantly bullied by everyone here. Whether its finey or @mits, it is fine to banter and poke fun at some of the funny comments or exaggerated hyperbole- I am all for it and it is enjoyable but to start looking at them to vent your bullying tendencies even when the poster has started something to solicit information is not in good light. While most of the times I come to ICF for fun, discussions and cricket- at times the site has really helped me by providing some useful information at times; others should get that opportunity too.
