The Outsider Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Looking forward to tomorrow's match between England and Pakistan.
flamy Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 u mean the Group of Minnows. Pak will win. :(( I don't want them to, but they will. I have bet on them. :wall:
Sachinism Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Should be interesting I'm not sure who I want to win. I'd like to have England go through just because the tournament would be more entertaining then
EnterTheVoid Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 If the Taliban lose to England, whats the chance of them progressing to the next round ? Nil, I hope.
King Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Australia/Sri Lanka/West Indies are more of a group of death. It's sad one of these teams will not make it to the super 8. Bangladesh should have ideally been moved to this group and one of the teams from this group should have been in the group India and Ireland is.
cowboysfan Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 the seeding was done based on the last world cup.i think its fair.I really hope the lankans can knock off the Aussies.
Dirty_South Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 the seeding was done based on the last world cup.i think its fair.I really hope the lankans can knock off the Aussies. Hope it happens!!
flamy Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 hahahaha@group of death with the merchants of death :hitler:
Bradman99 Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Aus needs to win against Sri and usually we pull it off in the big games. Just not so sure about the 20/20's.
Mr. Wicket Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Australia/Sri Lanka/West Indies are more of a group of death. It's sad one of these teams will not make it to the super 8. Why? Australia have taken the same slack approach to selection as England, using the T20 as a fitness trial and warmup for a bunch of Ashes players and prospects like Lee, rather than actually picking their best players all on merit. They've never taken the tournament or format particularly seriously, so I have no sympathy if they get KOed. As for WI, I've lost any respect I had for Gayle and his side after the skip's comments recently and their gutless, spineless, apathetic displays in the last two months. If they lose, boo hoo.
Mr. Wicket Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Aus needs to win against Sri and usually we pull it off in the big games. Wrong. Australia can beat SL, but if SL then beats WI (which is VERY likely, given the history WI have against them), then it'll come down to net run rate. Check Australia's right now.
King Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I'm a bit cut off with regards to Australia. I want them to progress so that we can see good contests but at the same time wary of India's chances against them so would rather see them lose out in the very first round making India's job to get to Semis a lot easier. BTW are the teams carrying points to the next round?
cowboysfan Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Even if England wins tomorrow' date=' I am sure they will be eliminated at least by NRR.[/quote'] nope they have good NRR-they just need to beat pakis and they are through.
Ram Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 nope they have good NRR-they just need to beat pakis and they are through. Even if Pakistan wins against the Dutch?
King Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Even if Pakistan wins against the Dutch? Yup as long as England has decent enough margin against Pakistan and hope Pakistan doesn't beat Netherlands by a huge margin.
