How can you guys be excited when we have two wickets in almost a full day against West Indies?

Bowling has not been bad from fast bowlers. I saw whole bowling done by fast bowlers. They were unlucky and there is nothing in the track. We cannot fault with the efforts of Aaron and Ishant, especially after lunch Ishant bowled some fiery fast overs. Could have had quite a few wickets on a good day.

They have bowled very well. Pitch conditions etc are factor. If you watched the game you would understand. On another track with same bowling they would have caused havoc

Today is the best I have seen Ishant bowl since his famous spell against Ponting. 90 mph and on the money

Yes..It has been happening and cricinfo which showed same speed as TV in SA-Aus series telecast on Ten Sports, often does not show that in this series

Aaron has bowled consistently over 140 k and some overs consistently around 144 k but could have attacked the stumps more. This is just his first day and he will learn. He has swung the ball both ways although they were smallish deviations as not much swing was on offer and Aaron was a tad too short.The pitch looks really flat on day one.

Whenever he pitched the ball up, he went for runs. Pitch was easy paced and with no much lateral movement and was coming on to the bat well and they played on the rise well.

Dhoni could have used the " multiple rising deliveries tactic " that is often used in conditions which are not offering much movement. You keep a shortleg, leg gully, deep square leg and a deep fine leg and bowl 4 or 5 short rising balls per over, preferably from round the wicket for a right handed batsman. As we had two 90 mph bowlers, and the pitch had reasonable bounce, it could have been tried for 5/6 overs on the trot. The Windies batsmen were often in discomfort when rising deliveries were bowled.

amazing what having other quick bowlers in the squad can do. i reckon that if he was bowling with zaheer and pk his speeds would not be as high. now he does not want to be 'shamed' by the newbies and be the slowest which is good for the team in general.

Ishant finally has got back his pace.He may not look threatning on this patta but with his extra bounce & now with his regained pace he's going to be instrumental in Australia.

Yes. He looked, but was unlucky not to get any edge. IMO, He should have tries more bouncers.

When Ishant was at his deadly best in 2008, he was moving the ball miles (Remember the Ponting dismissal thru the bat and pad in 2008?). I happy that Ishant has gotten his pace back, but he still has to prove his effectiveness.
