zubinpepsi Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 is he really a good spinner?? then we must drop harbhajan the useless and play jadeja purely as a bowler.. :punter: wat say??
vvvslaxman Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 He had 42 wickets in the last year first class game. Second highest only behind Monish Parmer to go with his 700 odd runs.
Params7 Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 He picked up Ponting's wicket in the first game, and Hussey's wicket in the 2nd game. Both important wickets, he's been bowling well.
vvvslaxman Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Indian spin department is in the safe hands Mishra, Ojha, Chawla, R Jadeja, Parmer, Jakati.
vvvslaxman Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Next time we play padosis you should have both Ojha and R Jadeja in addition to Yuvi. They suck against left arm spinners.
satishg Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 he looks to me as a good spinner option for MSD while we are playing in India. But then his batting skills leave a lot to be desired. If only he can bat as well as he is being talked about by Warnie, India would have a decent all rounder option then. Anyway good job today!
Params7 Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 He should improve his batting and solidify his place in the team. His bowling has been excellent so far and he has to play all the other games.
vvvslaxman Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 He has decent technique. Only problem is he lacks big hitting ability. But he brings more to the table than Yusuf Pathan.
Shane Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 He should improve his batting and solidify his place in the team. His bowling has been excellent so far and he has to play all the other games. A bit more exposure to List A games, he should pick up the pace, he had a fantastic FC season last year and a good start to this year, with the 60 odd he got in the Irani Trophy game.
cowboysfan Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 another guy who is stranded down the order. If he ever was in the position to win a match for us with more than a ball required then i dont like our chances.he is picked purely as a bowler who can bat a bit.
Sachinism Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 He has decent technique. Only problem is he lacks big hitting ability. But he brings more to the table than Yusuf Pathan. I think he can hit the ball, I remember a few nice sixers from him during IPL. But then again haven't seen enough of him to know what exactly he is capable of

All India needs is another all rounder who could bat at 7. May be Irfan Pathan. That way RJ can come at 8.
Ram Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 He’s a better bowler than most people give him credit for, especially in sub continental conditions. His batting is still a bit suspect though, especially when he’s trying to hit out against Fast-medium/Fast bowling. I remember him playing some promising cameos during IPL 1. I think we’re yet to see the best in his batting. But it looks like the team recognizes the potential in him, because they have repeatedly thrust him on to the big state despite a handful of failures. Just seeing him bat, its quite plain that he is adequately capable, but just seems to lack the confidence and real intent. That maybe because he does not have too many runs under his belt in the international circuit. Maybe we could promote him up the order against weaker opponents or dead-rubber matches, help him get a meaningful hit in the middle and then maybe he could come into his own.
ViruRulez Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 As I have always said, if only he could increase his hitting abilities and SR a bit then he can be a very useful addition to the team.. we need his abilities for the all rounder spot if he can improve his batting

That way RJ can come at 8. bowler > very intelligent , so pretty difficult to score off even on pitches with no assistance batting > busy player , not a big hitter but can maintain 80+sr easily ....from IPL and domestic , hes known as a good player under pressure . I think he has a place in the indian team , atleast ODI till we find a fast bowling all rounder...hes not a big hitting no7 , but some one who can anchor the innings ..so should be sent up the order once in a while to see how he performs .
King Tendulkar Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Bolwed very well today. I was impressed! Batting has yet to impress. But needs further chances
vvvslaxman Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 As I have always said' date=' if only he could increase his hitting abilities and SR a bit then he can be a very useful addition to the team.. we need his abilities for the all rounder spot if he can improve his batting[/quote'] He is a tremendous all round fielder.
Shane Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 From this very Thread. ok.. kick him out ... he is crap As I have always said' date= if only he could increase his hitting abilities and SR a bit then he can be a very useful addition to the team.. we need his abilities for the all rounder spot if he can improve his batting :D
