Rightarmfast Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Look at the speeds of our seamers in the world cup 2011 final, you will find an express bowler, he is also a Keralite. Good to see many others are coming in now like Yadav and Aaron. Not sure if Nechim regularly bowls 140k+ and I don't include Ishant because for last few years his quick delivery is 136k and he takes hardly any wickets. But even Ishant upping pace now but lacks skill. Skill and pace are key, no one cares about just pace. Only one guy in our team has pace and skill, capable of bowling swing at 145k. Yenn gube , chanagiddaya ? nange neevu ( sreesanth ) thumba ashthe !
King Tendulkar Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 Yadav like him, Ishant like him, Aaron like him. Boys with pace who can rattle the best and have massive scope for improvement and potential. This B Kumar is trundle city yet getting people excited. He will be a non factor in test cricket just like another player in crapthan who I was told was going to be superb in tests etc but was just trundle city with his lollipops Sickens me to see another 78 to 82 mph seamer debuting for India. Depressing. Dream of the Ishant, Yadav and Aaron trio spear heading attack. As for first time we could scare oppo and blast them out sometimes. So there is light at end of tunel
panther Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Ishant has lost his pace again lol, dinda was bowling faster than him in the t20s.
Pagalpanti Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 We keep getting few in between who lose their way. (Ishant, Sreesanth) Aaron and Yadav despite getting rotated, manage to get injured in the few games they get to play.
bharat297 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I think pretty soon we need to go the way of having separate bowlers for separate formats. You could probably keep the same ones for ODIs and T20s but I'd like to see a crop selected specifically for Tests: e.g. Tests: Ishant, Yadav, Pankaj, Shami ODIs: Aaron, Vinay Kumar, B.Kumar, I.Pathan Maybe not exactly those players but essentially have a set of fast bowlers that are focusing on Test cricket, like Siddle is for Australia. I think that would be the best way to keep these guys fit and focused on their format. For Tests we'd need to have a crop of quicker bowlers whereas for ODIs I think you'd need guys of different paces and different styles.
sandipk456 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Guys like Umesh Jadav, Varon Aaron have proved that Indians have the ability to bowl at 90Mph + speed, so theories on race genetics etc are all vague. The real fact is that Indian people adore batsmen, and consider it as glamorous, this is the reason why not many youngsters are interested in bowling on the other hand India has produced world class batsmen like sachin, dravid, Gavaskar, Ganguly... When more and more youngsters get interested in fast bowling India will begin to produce world class fast bowlers...:icflove:

Indian fans sometimes don't even watch the match when India is bowling ( unless its the deciding 2nd or 4th innings)- its all abt batting in India
bharat297 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 +1 Its quite the opposite in Pak where its all about emulating Waqar, Akram, Shoaib.... Indian fans sometimes don't even watch the match when India is bowling ( unless its the deciding 2nd or 4th innings)- its all abt batting in India Yep thats true. The other aspect is fitness. To consistently bowl fast requires a fair amount of fitness and strength. Indian bowlers lose their fitness really quickly. Yadav and Aaron are hopefully exceptions.

bharat297 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Going by the injuries I am not optimistic about that Oh well there's 2 aspects of fitness ... There's fitness to be ready for the matches. E.g. Sehwag is "fit" for every match ...but there's fitness to be able to maintain a high level of intensity throughout the match. I was referring to the latter but you're right they also need to sort out their fitness for that too.
sandipk456 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 +1 Its quite the opposite in Pak where its all about emulating Waqar, Akram, Shoaib.... sandipk456 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 One major reason behind producing good quality fast bowlers like Dale Styne, Brett Lee, Bond etc is that Club cricket in countries like S.A, Australia, England has good instructor they nourish youngsters at very early age they use many technologies and suggest the best bowling action to reduce injuries .. Ex- Ian Pont of England :winky:
express bowling Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Umesh, Aaron and Shami are the fast bowlers I am looking forward to in both tests and odis. Ishant is a confused non-learner who has had more chances than he deserves. Umesh is already inspiring pacers to bowl quick in the domestics. Hopefully we will have a pool of 4 to 6 genuine quicks within the next 2 to 3 years.
panther Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 "It's not a natural thing," Zaheer told Times of India. "Indian bodies are not designed to bowl fast but that said, it's not very different from bowling outside India. Basically you have to spend a lot of time understanding yourself, your art, and then find out what works for you and what doesn't. It also involves a lot of hard work." http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/story/535672.html From the best India has produced
Cricketics Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 When people in India start going to GYM, NOT to have great biceps and chest and six pack, but just for WORK OUT, STAMINA AND DO SOME GOOD AMOUNT OF TREAD MILL. In India, gym = Biceps and shyt. They are freaking unfit. Got to increase the stamina first but doing some good amount of running.
