dial_100
As long as he operate in t20 mode in ODI's [hitting before getting a look/feel for the pitch] he'll continue to be a 'walking wicket' in ODI's well said... in 50-50, you can afford to play 3-5 overs.. before you could start hitting the ball. flamy
Yes he is another IPL lottery player. Clearly does not have the class needed to play for India. Must move away from these joe average so called limited over specialists LOL! One match and the kinves are out. He is a permanent fixture in our LOI teams and he deserves it too. Link to comment
someone
LOL! One match and the kinves are out. He is a permanent fixture in our LOI teams and he deserves it too. That what the problem lies, he is really overrated, let me admit it I do not know if he is really that good or not but I am pretty sure that we all really assume that he is a good player and deserves his chance but the problem is that this assumption lies only with certain players and other players who have 1 bad match means they should br out Link to comment
rahulrulezz
wth is wrong with you man....... Yousuf just made 40* with 2 sixes and took 3 wickets in the last match.. and now ppl are asking him to be kicked out... what do u want, crappy and *****ty players like Kaif, R. Jadeja, D.Mongia?? vadodaravictor
The number of opportunities given to Yusuf is no where near to Rohit Sharma. Although, I believe, Yusuf needs to develop temperament to play 50-50. Link to comment

Although' date=' I believe, Yusuf needs to develop temperament to play 50-50.[/quote'] Yea.. we cannot over-rule that concern. Will he be able to step up to a situation where he might be needed to play the last 15 or 20 overs. If he needs to learn that from somebody he has to look no further than Irfan Pathan who stitched together a 118 runs partnershpi with JP Yadav against NZ when India was 44 for 8. But the good thing about Irfan is he has solid defensive technique. But at the moment Yusuf is not in the team for that. Building an innings. He is there for shock value. He can produce one of those blinders that can blow the opposition away. We have to accept the fact he might not come off most of the days. This is where Yusuf's bowling becomes all the more important. Otherwise he will be competing with his own brother for his place. Link to comment
Watson87
It won't be too long when someone is going to open "Yusuf - the real balls of steel" LOL Link to comment
Bharat12
I do rate Yusuf Pathan, think he has some serious batting qualities but he's a player who really has to hone his talents now. He's far from being an inexperienced youngster, and his bowling isn't good enough to make consistently poor batting performances acceptable. I have wondered whether bringing in Ojha for him would be a good idea considering the fact that he's a better spinner and while Yusuf's dismal batting run continues - that department takes less prominence in their comparison. However, maybe we should stick with him to see if he can bat to his best because he has the ability to be devastating, just as long as we're not accomodating him with the intention he'll come good because he has to take more responsibility on himself. Mr. Wicket
I wonder if some of you people even pay attention to first class cricket, or whether you only pull your heads out of your arses to watch when the IPL's on. Link to comment
saneindian
Yusuf is no IPL wonder. He has been killing attacks in domestic cricket for a very long time now. The guy has been in the team for a little over 8-9 months, give him time to settle. How many chances has he got to bat properly..16-17 innings, 10 out of which were when he came in the 45th-46th over..yes he has failed on a few occassions..but he has definitely shown a lot of promise. Exactly the kind of hitter we need in our lower middle order. The other plus point is does well with the ball whenever given a chance. I am sure in due course of time, he will become a very very good ODI player and could be a key member of our 2011 world cup team. Link to comment
MUMBAISKIPPER
he is a clean hitter of the ball but he needs to spend some time on the wicket. You just cannot come in and start banging every ball that comes your way.If he doesn't improve then he will be another Afridi. But I am sure yousuf has something in his head unlike Afridi. King Tendulkar
International sides will bring pacers on bang it in. He has been exposed. Planting your front foot foward and swiping his hopeless to short ball. He lacks class. Only hope is that windies 20/20 and next world cup are on super flat/super slow tracks were his hitting may still function. Link to comment

You just have to see Pathans technique, the swipe to cow corner for 6. With that technique and one dimensional batting you will only get so far So Gambhir has been exposed????? After the year and half he has had ,you say he has been exposed?????What a foolish post! Link to comment

Pathan has a decent technique n i have seen him hook balls for six n pull them for fours.it is foolish to say he is One-dimensional Link to comment
