He plays with a straight bat, has match awareness, and can give it a real thump when needed. Moreover, he can bring that extra Ganguly like dimension in the squad of a batsman who can bowl a bit of seam up if needed. That's crucial when playing the subcontinent where we will always play 2 spinners.

AIS scored 101/7 in 20 overs, Tyagi and Sangwan claimed 2 wickets each while Mishra, Pankaj Singh and Nayar claimed one each. India knocked those runs off in 18.3 overs, losing the 4 wickets in the process. Rahane held one end up with unbeaten 43, Vijay was out for a duck, Badrinath for 2 Kohli for 7 and Nayar for a quickfire 30 of just 25 balls. Scorecard Iframe: Open in new window

One-off performances shouldn't start getting ppl into reckoning for the national team..
